Gigi Galli's citroen on Pirelli in Sweden and Norway

WRC: GIGI GALLI'S CITROEN
ON PIRELLI IN SWEDEN AND NORWAY

The Lombardy ace to compete on the snow of Scandinavia with a Xsara WRC on Pirelli.
Pirelli's total and absolute support continues for the WRC's most active Italian driver.

Milan, 11 January 2007 - Gigi Galli will compete in the second and third rounds of this season's World Rally Championship in Sweden and Norway in a Citroen Xsara WRC fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres. As always, his co-driver will be Giovanni Bernacchini.

The Italian driver and brilliant winner of the 2005 and 2006 Memorial Bettega who came an optimum third overall in the 2006 Rally of Argentina in a Peugeot 307 WRC-Pirelli, has once more earned the confidence of the Milan manufacturer for the two world championship counters, which will take place in February on snow. At the moment, the official collaboration between Pirelli and Galli concerns the Swedish and Norwegian rallies. Other later commitments have not yet been definitively sanctioned.

Said Gigi Galli, "I am obviously enthusiastic about the chance of continuing to compete thanks to, and with, Pirelli, a company that has actively supported me in recent WRC seasons. The level of competitiveness of the Xsara WRC is always such as to enable me to fight for top placings, so I am confident about the Scandinavian rallies. In fact, last year on Pirellis Daniel Carlsson and I battled for a long time in Mitsubishi Lancer WRCs for a place on the Rally of Sweden podium and I came close, taking fourth behind Daniel".

Paul Hembery Director of Pirelli Competizioni, said, "Pirelli is pleased to continue to sustain the talent of Gigi in 2007, after enabling him to shine in recent years with both the Mitsubishi and the Peugeot. Sweden and Norway are the two 'atypical' rallies in the world championship and the quality of the Citroen Xsara WRC was also seen last year, for which reasons it is obvious that the 'package' comprising the driver, the car and the Pirelli P Zeros should be considered really competitive. From that, it is clear that we are aiming for the kind of top result a driver the calibre of Galli can offer".
