Pirelli Competizioni protagonists of the IRC Fiat Rally in Turkey

PIRELLI COMPETIZIONI PROTAGONISTS
OF THE IRC FIAT RALLY IN TURKEY

Travaglia's Group N Mitsubishi Lancer and the new, anxiously awaited Honda Civic Super2000s (driven by Solà and Betti) are among the top cars on PZero.

Istanbul, 10 May 2007 - After having inaugurated the 2007 season in March with the Safari Rally, the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) is back in the news as it swings into action again in Turkey - with many crews entered for the event and the official presence of Pirelli Competizioni. It is from the Fiat Rally, which begins today, that the Milan tyre manufacturer will be constantly present in the IRC series, which will be extremely hard fought and brimming with interesting features.

At the Fiat Rally, which will take place in an area not far from Istanbul, Pirelli will provide its technical support for a number of competitive cars. They include the Group N Mitsubishi Lancer Evo of ex-European Champion Renato Travaglia and two Honda Civic Type-R S2000s driven by Dani Solà and Marco Betti, as well as a considerable number of private entrants who will be campaigning various other cars.

In Turkey the rally will be run over really demanding special stages as far as men, cars and tyres are concerned. But as Pirelli Competizioni's Rally Manager Mario Isola points out, "This Turkish rally will take place on special stages that are new to all competitors, so the event will start in conditions of perfect equilibrium for everyone. Although the forecasts predict dry weather, Pirelli has taken to Turkey a large selection of tyres suitable for muddy stages. The PZero range for the loose to which Pirelli Competizioni is giving preference at the moment, has the K tread pattern (level 4 medium/basic and level 2 hard), KM (level six in case of rain) and XR (level 5, particularly suitable for repeated stages, when the stage surface has been "cleaned" by competitors)".
