PIRELLI DOMINATES RALLY DI ROMA, OCCUPYING THE WHOLE PODIUM

It was a triumphant Rally di Roma Capitale for Pirelli drivers, who occupied the first four places overall and achieved many important successes in the different categories of both the European and Italian championships.

The event was controlled almost from the beginning by Alexey Lukyanuk (Ford Fiesta), who thus regained the lead of the European Rally Championship.

Just a few seconds behind him was Giandomenico Basso (Skoda Fabia), who was also the top Italian driver at the finish.

Third place went to the Polish driver Grzegorz Grzyb (Skoda Fabia), 12 seconds ahead of the young German champion Fabian Kreim (Skoda Fabia), who took the win in the ERC Junior Under 28 class, strengthening his lead in the hard-fought series for promising young talents.

Latvian Martins Sesks (Opel Adam) won the ERC Junior Under 27 class and battled for the two-wheel drive category until the very last stage, finishing up second to Damiano De Tommaso (Peugeot 208), who in turn triumphed in the Italian Junior Championship.

HEAT AND STONES MAKE A CONSIDERABLE TEST FOR P ZERO RK. A hot road surface that was quickly scattered with rocks and stones created many potential pitfalls on this rally. The Pirelli drivers were able to benefit from the durability and consistent performance of the Pirelli P Zero RK tyres, and specifically the hard compound RK5.Twelve drivers who competed with Pirelli finished in the first 15 positions, while drivers equipped with P Zero posted the best time in 11 special stages out of 14.
