Pirelli P3000: The New Age Of Energy
The new Pirelli P3000 is an "energy" tyre - of reduced fuel consumption - characterised by completely new technological content, which has revolutionised the classic approach to the development of the "green" tyre of low rolling resistance: it is from "New Age Technology", devised by the Pirelli Research and Development organisation by re-thinking all the tyre's components -tread compound, structure, tread pattern - that this innovative new formula has emerged.
P3000 Energy, destined for both original equipment and replacement, is the first Pirelli tyre to have been developed by a closely integrated pool of international technicians at the company's research centres in Milan and Santo Andre', Brazil. While still in its final development phase, the new product was homologated by a number of car manufacturers, confirming the close working relationships which now unite the development of new car and tyre design.
The P3000 Energy will be made in seven countries: the tyre will first be sold in Europe and South America and will ultimately be available in 60 countries across the world.

To the company that invented the sporty ultra-low profile, standard car tyres represent a natural technological extension. With P3000 Energy, a new generation of "large volume" Pirelli car tyres makes its debut and will join P2000, P400 and P200 Aquachrono in the important T segment.

Now available in Europe, South America and other markets, the P3000 Energy is a 'world tyre' due to its availability in a wide range of sizes for all models in the small and medium car categories. The tyre is the first to be produced by a major manufacturer that offers the motorist exclusive added value: a guarantee of satisfaction, obtainable from all Pirelli tyre dealers.

The mass produced car market demand for low rolling resistance
tyres - which contribute to containing a vehicle's fuel consumption
- is continually on the increase.
Until now, that requirement has been met through a standard
technical manipulation of components - tread compound formulae,
development of materials, structural design. All of which has
helped produce increasingly "green" tyres that guarantee a certain
economy of use but which, progressively, have distanced themselves
from performance and mileage, traditional properties of "black"
tyres. Yet in this segment more than any other, "performance" is
synonymous with "safety".
Now, Pirelli's research and development organisation has created a
brand new kind of technology for the P3000 Energy which, for the
first time, is able to reconcile low rolling resistance with safety
and performance.
The Pirelli P3000 Energy reaches far beyond the technological
boundaries created by the traditional "green" era and launches a
new concept in "energy" tyres: New Age Technology.
It is New Age Technology which has been able to overcome the
contradiction between "black" and "green" to become the means by
which a new generation of "energy" tyres has been created: an
innovative formulation of the tyre's tread compound, structure and
tread pattern.

Pirelli P3000 Energy: a "world tyre"
P3000 Energy has been developed by Pirelli's Research and
Development organisation with input from its international pool of
technologists, all if whose goal was to devise a "global"
product.
As with all other new generation Pirelli tyres, state-of-the-art
informatics were used to develop P3000 Energy. Computerised
mathematical models were integrated with indispensable track and
road testing: the new tyre is born of millions of kilometers of
global test programme, executed throughout Europe and Brazil.
Production of P3000 Energy will also be by integrated
industrialisation. The new Pirelli tyre is made by a highly uniform
production methodology in the Group's principal factories. Such
integration has been made possible by standardising production and
quality programmes in the Group's plants.
Like all major Pirelli products, P3000 Energy is a tyre destined
for original equipment. A careful balance between the respective
characteristics of "green" and "black" tyres, ease of use,
globalisation of production: all points in favour of P3000's
success in OE. The Fiat Palio, Peugeots 306 and 205 and Rover 214
have already adopted the new P3000 Energy as original equipment:
the tyre is now undergoing homologation for the Fiat Brava, Seat
Ibiza, Volkswagen Golf IV and new Polo and the future Ford
Escort.
P3000 Energy: the first tyre "satisfaction guaranteed"
P3000 Energy is no elitist tyre, but one to be produced in large
quantities for a multiplicity of customers, with their many
different purchasing reasons and, above all, widely diverse
criteria on the basis of which to evaluate the product.
Among those potential purchasers around the world there may well be
some who become dissatisfied with the tyres: not a problem -
Pirelli will change them immediately.
Super-confident of the innovative technology from which the P3000
Energy is derived, Pirelli has developed an equally innovative
sales concept for the tyre - the "satisfaction guarantee". Those
who buy a set of P3000 from a dealer whose premises display the
"satisfaction guarantee" logo will have the right to exchange them,
if they wish, for any other Pirelli tyres of equivalent size and
speed rating at no additional cost.
The guarantee will come into operation after a postcard, provided
by the dealer at the time of sale and valid for 30 days, is sent
confirming the exchange tyres are to be fitted to the vehicle for
which P3000 Energy were originally bought.
