Pirelli passes ADAC winter tests with top marks High performance further enhanced by safety and fuel savings

Milan, 29th October 2007 - Pirelli winter tyres have passed winter tests carried out by ADAC (German Automobile Club) with full marks, not just in the high-performance segment traditionally dominated by the manufacturer from Milan, but also in the city and small-family car tyre segment. In particular, Pirelli tyres shone in the German tests, the sector's strictest and most respected, as a result of their fuel savings, safety and performance.

Products that stood out include, Pirelli Winter W210 SottoZero, described as the best of all products considered in the comparative tests carried out in Germany and other Alpine countries, and Winter SnowControl that ran out the winner in tests with tyre size 155/70 R13 and in the comparison made by the magazine AutoBild with 195/60 R15 (both standard sizes for compact, small-engined cars). Winter SnowControl was the outright winner on icy roads (the most common condition on snow-covered roads) and also excelled in tests on heavily snow-covered roads. Other winning features of the Pirelli products under scrutiny are safety and lower fuel consumption under both extreme road conditions and in the dry.
