Range Extended With Scorpion MX Mid Hard 554
In September 2011, Pirelli unveiled the new Scorpion MX Mid Hard 554 tyres and various changes to the range. This was the month in which it gained its 56th World Motocross Championship title on German soil in the MX1 and MX2 classes with Red Bull KTM team riders Tony Cairoli and Ken Roczen. Bolstered by such an impressive array of trophies, the success of the Scorpion MX product line promises to continue thanks to the performance of the new MX Mid Hard 554 and specific product modifications. These new developments are the result of work by Pirelli and use in both AMA Supercross and MX1/MX2 classes of the FIM World Motocross Championship. Since 1980, Pirelli’s debut year in the FIM MX World Championship, their use in top level racing has been a key factor for the ongoing development and improvement of all off-road professional racing tyres. The experience gained has led to the latest technology implemented in the Scorpion MX series. Today, Pirelli once again demonstrates the level of expertise and technology achieved by introducing an updated range of Scorpion MX tyres with new treads and sizes. Here is a list of changes: - MX Mid Hard 554 replaces MX Mid Hard 454 with a new tread; - a rear size of 110/85-19 for the popular MX Mid Soft 32; - MX eXTra X replaces MX eXTra with a new front and updated rear available in 18 and 19 inch versions; - MX eXTra J replaces the current MX eXTra minicross range. The updated line of SCORPION MX professional motocross tyres therefore comprises six products for the different types of terrain to be found on the circuits: - Soft 410 for soft terrains such as sand and mud; - Mid Soft 32 for intermediate-to-soft terrains such as light mud, bumps, ruts and uneven surfaces; - Mid Hard 554 for intermediate-to-hard terrains such as heavier, hard-packed or rocky ground; - Hard 486 for hard rocky terrains; - eXTra X designed for training and semi-professional racing; - eXTra J an all-round solution for minicross training aimed at the champions of tomorrow.
