The new F0749 specification retains the soft compound of the standard SC1 but features a new structure, with the aim of providing greater stability, particularly under braking. The front tyre allocation will be completed by the standard SC1, allowing for a direct and meaningful comparison between the two options. To allow riders to test the new tyre, the maximum number of front tyres available to each rider over the entire race weekend will increase by one, from 8 to 9.

· SCX and SC0 confirmed. At the rear, Pirelli will once again offer the two softer solutions used twelve months ago as development tyres: the supersoft E0126 (now the standard SCX) and the soft E0125, now the standard SC0. On that occasion, the E0126 was unanimously chosen by Moto2™ riders for both qualifying and the race.

· Confirmation in Moto3™. Moto3™ riders will be able to rely on the well-known combination of the soft SC1 and medium SC2 for both front and rear. Last year, both in qualifying (Valentin Perrone – KTM) and in the race (José Antonio Rueda – KTM), the winning choice was the combination of SC2 at the front and SC1 at the rear. However, Adrian Fernandez (Honda) stepped onto the third step of the podium with the opposite choice, SC1 at the front and SC2 at the rear, being one of only two riders on the grid to opt for the medium compound at the rear.

A new structure to improve front-end performance

“After Aragón, we will continue the Moto2™ front tyre development programme at Misano. At a circuit that we know very well, which hosts competitions in several categories and numerous manufacturers’ tests, we will introduce a new solution: the F0749 specification. This tyre also belongs to the ‘soft’ family, but it differs substantially from the E1089 used two weeks ago at Aragón: while the latter retained the structure of the standard SC1 combined with a new compound, the F0749 instead features a new structure paired with the soft compound of the standard SC1.
The work carried out by Pirelli engineers has focused on the goal of providing riders with greater stability, a particularly important aspect at a circuit that features the fastest corner on the championship calendar, as well as improved braking performance. The front tyre allocation, completed by the standard SC1, which was unanimously chosen by the riders last year, will allow for a direct and immediate comparison between the two solutions, enabling us to gather significant data to continue the development programme.
At the rear, the softer solutions are confirmed, having since entered the range under the SCX and SC0 names. It will therefore be interesting to assess their performance evolution both over race distance and on a single lap, the result of the continuous development work carried out by Pirelli engineers, also in collaboration with the teams”.

Moto,Motorsport,news

Teemu Suninen was crowned European champion thanks to his second place at Rali Ceredigion and victory on the Power Stage. Max McRae’s fourth place at the wheel of a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 also earned Pirelli the points required to mathematically secure its second consecutive manufacturers’ title. As the highest-placed British Rally Championship competitor, McRae also moved into the lead of the British series with one round remaining.

Suninen, co-driven by Antti Haapala in a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, took the lead on Friday’s night stages and ended the opening day in first place. He subsequently remained among the frontrunners, managing a rally made particularly demanding by rain on some stages and constant changes in grip. The Finn finished second and sealed the title by winning the concluding Power Stage, making his championship lead over Andrea Mabellini, at the wheel of a Pirelli-equipped Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale and his direct rival in the title fight, unassailable.

Suninen’s success crowns a season built on consistency and the ability to be competitive on very different surfaces and routes. The Finn claimed his first ERC victory at Rally Poland and three second places at Rally di Roma Capitale, Barum Czech Rally Zlín and in Wales.

For reigning champion Pirelli, its second consecutive tyre manufacturers’ title comes at the end of a season contested on different surfaces, from asphalt to gravel, but almost always in high temperatures. Its drivers claimed three victories in the first four rounds and scored decisive points throughout the championship. Further adding to this tally are Ville Vatanen’s achievements: as well as winning the Fiesta Rally3 Trophy at the Barum, he was crowned ERC3 champion in Wales at the wheel of a Ford Fiesta Rally3. Winning the Trophy will enable him to make his debut in a Ford Fiesta Rally2 at the final round of the season in Portugal, thanks to the prize offered by Pirelli and M-Sport.

“Winning the title with one round to spare is a result of great significance,” commented Terenzio Testoni, Pirelli Rally Activity Manager. “Suninen put together an extremely solid season, combining speed, consistency and race management, as he also demonstrated here in Wales. His results, together with those of Andrea Mabellini and all our drivers, enabled us to retain the tyre manufacturers’ title. These results, together with Vatanen’s achievements, reward the work carried out throughout the year by a close-knit and passionate team, as well as our ongoing commitment to innovation in products capable of delivering performance and reliability for cars from different manufacturers and on widely differing surfaces.”

news,Motorsport,ERC

Garcia wins WorldSSP</pp:subtitle>

· Bulega makes it 26. Nicolò Bulega (Ducati) is getting ever closer to a perfect season, with the Italian leaving Magny-Cours having secured his eighth hat-trick in nine rounds. After winning Race 1 yesterday, he claimed both the Superpole Race and Race 2 today, bringing his tally to 26 wins in 27 races contested this season. In three weeks’ time, when the FIM WorldSBK World Championship heads to Cremona Circuit for the Italian Round, the tenth of 12 events on the calendar, Bulega will have his first opportunity to clinch the title. Race 2 was red-flagged with one lap remaining, with Bulega joined on the podium by teammate Iker Lecuona and Yari Montella for another Ducati 1-2-3 finish. As yesterday, all riders started with Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike production supersoft SCX tyres at the rear, while the soft SC1 was the preferred option at the front.

· Another record for SCX. The Superpole Race produced the same podium as the afternoon race, with Bulega once again ahead of fellow Ducati riders Lecuona and Montella. All three opted for Pirelli’s supersoft SCX rear tyre, with the grid split evenly between SCX and extrasoft SCQ, with 10 riders on each, while all riders selected the soft SC1 production tyre at the front. Bulega also set a new race lap record, stopping the clock at 1’34.750, 280 thousandths of a second faster than the Race 1 record he had set the previous day, and 750 thousandths quicker than Toprak Razgatlioğlu’s 2025 race record of 1’36.500. It was also 180 thousandths faster than Razgatlioğlu’s outright lap record set last year, while the overall race time was 6.489 seconds faster than in last year’s Superpole Race.

· Garcia wins in WorldSSP. Roberto Garcia (Yamaha) won WorldSSP Race 2, held over just five laps following a red flag, taking advantage of leader Can Öncü’s mistake three corners from the finish to claim his first victory of the season. World Championship leader Albert Arenas (Yamaha) finished second, ahead of Valentin Debise (ZXMOTO). All riders opted for the soft SC1 compound at the front and the supersoft SCX at the rear. With the final lap completed in 1’39.743, Arenas also set a new race lap record, improving Tom Booth-Amos’ mark from yesterday’s Race 1 by 125 thousandths of a second. Xavi Artigas (Kawasaki) won World Sportbike Race 2, while Japan’s Richi Takahira completed a perfect weekend in the Yamaha R3 World Cup by also winning Race 2.

Production SCX confirms its outstanding versatility and competitiveness

"The FIM Superbike World Championship French Round concludes with excellent results for the tyres across all categories, both in terms of outright lap times and consistency and performance over race distance. Compared to a year ago, when Pirelli provided Superbike riders with the same softer solutions, then still development tyres and now promoted to the production range, the comparison highlights a significant improvement in performance.
Both the SCX supersoft rear and the SCQ extrasoft allowed riders to achieve outstanding results, enabling them to lap at a much faster pace than a year ago. The average improvement in race lap times was one second in today’s Race 2, up to the point when the red flag was shown. Even over a single lap, Bulega’s time in the Superpole Race, when he went faster than Razgatlioğlu’s outright record set in qualifying last year with the SCQ development tyre in E0479 specification, provides further evidence of the extensive development work resulting from the close collaboration between Pirelli engineers and engineers from the various manufacturers.
By now, we are well aware of the SCX’s outright competitiveness, even in situations with significantly different temperatures. In this respect, today’s Superpole Race grid being evenly split between riders choosing the extrasoft SCQ and those opting for the SCX confirms that Pirelli’s products allow riders to make alternative choices while remaining equally competitive”.

Moto,Motorsport,news

Nicolò Bulega (Ducati) made the best possible start to the Magny-Cours weekend, which hosts the ninth round of the FIM Superbike World Championship, winning the 12-lap Race 1 after an incident involving Thomas Bridewell prompted a red flag. Starting from pole position, the championship leader claimed his 24th victory in 25 races this season, finishing ahead of teammate Iker Lecuona and fellow Ducati rider Sam Lowes. All riders on the grid chose the production supersoft SCX rear and soft SC1 front. Following the interruption, and with a new set of tyres fitted, Bulega needed just three laps to set a new race lap record of 1’35.290, before improving it a lap later to a definitive 1’35.030, 470 thousandths faster than the record set last year by Toprak Razgatlioğlu (1’35.500).

· Unbeaten in qualifying. Bulega also dominated the morning’s Superpole, taking his Ducati to the top of the grid for the tenth consecutive time – extending his World Superbike record. In addition to Bulega, Sam Lowes, Iker Lecuona and Yari Montella, all riding Ducatis, also broke the previous lap record in qualifying.

· Öncü stages a comeback in Supersport. In a WorldSSP Race 1 that saw championship leader Albert Arenas forced out in the early stages, Turkish rider Can Öncü (Yamaha) claimed victory with a perfect comeback from 13th on the grid. Spaniard Roberto Garcia (Yamaha) finished second, ahead of Frenchman Valentin Debise (ZXMOTO). Britain’s Tom Booth-Amos (Triumph) set the race lap record of 1’39.868, improving Stefano Manzi’s 2024 record by 339 thousandths of a second, while the overall race time was 6.224 seconds faster than Race 1 in 2025, representing an average improvement of 328 thousandths per lap. All 33 riders on the grid used production Pirelli tyres, with the soft SC1 compound at the front and supersoft SCX at the rear. Race 1 of the WorldSPB, the category equipped with Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike tyres in SC1 compound on both axles, was won by Britain’s Fenton Seabright (Triumph), while Japan’s Riichi Takahira claimed victory in the Yamaha R3 World Cup.

Pirelli’s softer production rear tyres highly effective at Magny-Cours

"Confirming the progress seen throughout the season, this first race day of the French Round of the FIM Superbike World Championship also saw a significant overall improvement in performance compared to 2025. In the morning, with cooler temperatures, Bulega was able to make the most of the grip offered by the production extrasoft SCQ rear tyre, setting a new Magny-Cours lap record in qualifying and improving the benchmark set by Razgatlioğlu last year by more than six tenths, with the E0479, then a development solution and now promoted to production specification. In addition to Bulega, three other riders also broke the previous record, confirming the excellent level of performance offered by the softest solution in the Pirelli range. It will be interesting to see how many riders choose to use this solution in tomorrow’s Superpole Race, where Alex Lowes secured third place last year.
There was also significant progress, both in terms of outright lap times and performance over race distance, for the production supersoft SCX, which last year, as the E0126 development specification, had proved to be the winning solution in all three races. Bridewell’s fortunately consequence-free incident led to a shortened race distance, but after the restart Bulega confirmed his excellent feeling with the SCX, improving the race lap record by almost half a second. Pirelli heads to the Welsh challenge leading the tyre suppliers’ standings, with two of its drivers, Teemu Suninen and Andrea Mabellini, occupying the top two positions in the drivers’ championship.

Following their double podium at the Barum Czech Rally Zlín, Suninen leads the championship with 108 points at the wheel of the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, while Mabellini lies second on 83 points in the Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale.

Although created only a few years ago, the rally offers a traditional-style challenge, with narrow and technical roads, uneven surfaces and constant changes of pace. Fast sections through the valleys and across the uplands alternate with stretches where driving precision and the ability to read the surface become crucial. The 16 special stages cover a total of 196 competitive kilometres across the counties of Ceredigion and Powys.

The weather represents one of the main uncertainties of the rally, with highly variable conditions and moderate to low temperatures, at least during the first part of the weekend. The latest forecasts indicate light, scattered rain and the possibility of alternating wet, damp and dry asphalt.

The rally will immediately get under way in earnest on Friday evening. Following the shakedown and Qualifying Stage, the crews will tackle two runs through the Aberystwyth Street Stage before the night-time Elerch and Blaenmelindwr stages. Saturday, the longest day of the rally, will feature two runs through Cwm Elan, a 21.8-kilometre stage across the Elan Valley. On Sunday, the second run through Ty Glyn will award Power Stage points.

For the Welsh rally, Pirelli will make the medium-compound P Zero RA7E and soft-compound P Zero RA7+D available to its crews, together with the Cinturato RWD in the event of rain.

“Ceredigion is a particularly complex rally because it does not have one single defining characteristic,” commented Terenzio Testoni, Pirelli Rally Activity Manager. “The drivers must constantly switch from very fast sections to narrow and technical stretches, often on uneven surfaces. This year there is also a degree of weather uncertainty that we have not encountered at the previous rounds, all of which were characterised by high temperatures. The alternation between rain, damp conditions and dry asphalt will make it difficult to identify the best compromise in terms of both tyre choice and car set-up. Friday’s night stages may also influence the decisions. The medium provides consistency and precision on the faster and more demanding sections, while the soft offers a solution suited to lower temperatures and reduced grip.”

In addition to Suninen and Mabellini, newly crowned ERC3 champion Ville Vatanen, at the wheel of a Ford Fiesta Rally3, and Max McRae in a Škoda Fabia RS will also compete on Pirelli tyres.

news,Motorsport,ERC

While all 29 riders on the grid chose the SCX supersoft range compound for the rear, López and Alonso opted for the SC1 soft range compound at the front, while Guevara preferred the new E1089 soft development specification, which made its World Championship debut this weekend. In addition to Guevara, six other riders chose Pirelli's new development tyre, with Adrian Huertas (Kalex) and Deniz Öncü (Boscoscuro) also finishing in the top ten after impressive comebacks. The race took place with a track temperature of 43°C and an air temperature of 27 °C.

· Magnificent seven for Quiles. While the entire Moto2™ grid opted for the softest available rear solution, Moto3™ riders instead relied on the medium-range compounds, including at the front, with 24 of the 26 starters using the SC2 combination on both axles. Only Zen Mitani and Nicola Carraro opted for the soft SC1 at the front. Spaniard and World Championship leader Máximo Quiles claimed his seventh victory of the season, finishing ahead of fellow Spaniard David Almansa and Argentina's Marco Morelli on the podium, all three riding KTMs. The race took place with a track temperature of 38°C and an air temperature of 24°C.

· Extremely fast races. The Moto2™ race was more than 8 seconds faster than last year, with riders using the SCX supersoft range compound at the rear instead of the E0125 soft development specification used in 2025 – now promoted to the SC0 range compound. The improvement averaged 0.433 seconds per lap. The fastest lap of the race, set by Ivan Ortolá on lap 6 in 1'50.198, beat the previous race lap record, set by Diogo Moreira last year, by 0.129 seconds. The progress in Moto3™ was even more remarkable, with the 17-lap race completed in 33'15.478, more than 18 seconds faster than in 2025, representing an average improvement of 1.075 seconds per lap. A new race lap record was also set by Marco Morelli on lap 5, with a time of 1'56.675, 0.237 seconds faster than the previous record of 1'56.912, set by Luca Lunetta a year ago.

New race benchmarks and a successful debut for the new front tyre

“The Aragon GP confirmed the significant progress seen in recent races in both categories, with overall performance and outright lap times setting new records even at a circuit that is particularly demanding on tyres. In Moto2™, the improvement was clear both in terms of lap times and over race distance, as the new race time was four tenths of a second faster and the race time was 8 seconds faster. While the choice of the SCX supersoft range compound at the rear was unanimous, introducing the new E1089 development specification to this race as an alternative to the SC1 soft range compound at the front proved to be a positive decision, as demonstrated by Guevara's second-place finish. He had appreciated its performance since the opening free practice sessions. This result, together with those achieved by the other riders who chose to race with this new specification and finished in strong positions, will allow us to gather valuable data as we continue our development work.
The progress was equally evident in the Moto3™ race, where almost the entire grid opted for the SC2 medium range compound on both axles. The figures speak for themselves: the race was as much as 18 seconds faster than last year's, with an improvement of more than one second per lap on average, as well as a new race lap record improved by more than two tenths of a second”.

Moto,Motorsport,news

Antonio López (Kalex) will start tomorrow’s Moto2™ race at the Aragon Grand Prix, the 13th round of the MotoGP™ World Championship, from pole position. The Spanish rider set the fastest time in qualifying and established a new MotorLand Aragón lap record with a time of 1’49.405, beating last year’s record by 535 thousandths of a second by Diogo Moreira and shaving almost two tenths off the time set by Manuel Gonzalez in Saturday morning’s FP2. All riders opting for the Pirelli SCX supersoft range rear tyre, López secured pole position using the SC1 soft range front, taking the fastest time from Izan Guevara (Boscoscuro) on his final attempt. Guevara, together with Barry Baltus (Kalex), had chosen the new E1089 development specification. Daniel Holgado (Kalex) completed the front row.

·Tight Moto3™ qualifying. David Almansa claimed pole position in Moto3™, his fifth of the season, with the Spanish rider also setting a new lap record with a time of 1’56.347, beating the previous record by 14 thousandths of a second by José Antonio Rueda. Almansa will line up on the front row tomorrow alongside Argentina’s Marco Morelli (KTM) and Championship leader Máximo Quiles (KTM), following an extremely close qualifying session in which just 43 thousandths of a second separated the top three. Almansa and Morelli used Pirelli SC1 soft range tyres at both ends, while Quiles opted for medium SC2 tyres at both ends

A positive debut for the new Moto2™ front tyre

“MotorLand Aragón is a particularly demanding circuit for tyres, where tyres need to deliver balanced performance throughout every phase of the lap. In the opening sessions on Friday, the track surface was quite dirty, but as the circuit evolved, performance improved rapidly: the previous Moto2™ lap record was already broken in Practice and then lowered further in the following sessions, with Alonso López's pole position improving last year’s record by more than half a second. The SCX supersoft rear is softer than the E0125 soft development solution – now promoted to the SC0 range – which was the unanimous choice last year. This helped riders lower their lap times quickly. The new E1089 soft development front tyre, which features the same structure as the SC1 range tyre but a different compound, also provided positive feedback, as demonstrated by Izan Guevara’s second-place finish in qualifying, with the Spanish rider also comfortably beating the previous lap record. For tomorrow’s race, we expect around one third of the riders on the grid to choose this new solution, which has been particularly appreciated for its tendency to offer improved stability under braking as the race progresses, providing an interesting direct comparison with those who will instead opt for the SC1 range tyre.
In Moto3™, where a new lap record was set in the closing stages of qualifying, the medium SC2 compound is proving to be the most competitive option from a race perspective, both at the front and rear. Their combination of stability, durability and consistent performance makes them the most complete solution to emerge so far, which is why we expect the vast majority of riders to choose this option.”

Moto,Motorsport,news

Compared with the SC1 soft from the range, it retains the same structure but features a new compound, with the aim of offering greater stability, particularly under braking. As the SC1 soft from the range will be available as an alternative option, riders will be able to make a direct comparison between the two solutions. To enable better evaluation of the new option, the maximum number of front tyres that each rider can use over the weekend has been increased by one: up to 9 front tyres will therefore be available instead of the usual 8.

· First appearance of SCX at Aragón. Compared with last year’s event, when Pirelli provided Moto2™ with two rear specifications featuring soft compounds – the SC0 from the range and the E0125 development solution, which has now been promoted to become the new soft tyre in the range – this year’s rear allocation is softer, with the introduction of the SCX supersoft from the range. The World Championship riders have already used this solution at several Grands Prix, but never at this circuit. Completing the rear tyre allocation is the SC0 soft from the range, which in 2025, then as the E0125 development solution, was unanimously chosen for the race.

· Moto3™ allocation. Over the weekend, Moto3™ riders will instead have the SC1 soft and SC2 medium available for both axles. Last year, the SC2, used both at the front and rear, proved to be the winning choice for David Muñoz (KTM) in a race where the grid was nevertheless split between soft and medium compounds at both ends.

· A highly technical track. MotorLand Aragón is a very distinctive circuit, characterised by several elevation changes, fast sweeping corners, heavy downhill braking zones, long straights and sudden changes of direction: an extremely demanding combination that makes the Spanish track particularly challenging when it comes to finding the ideal set-up. Resurfaced in 2024, it features a fairly abrasive asphalt.

Development focus on the front at Aragón

“At Aragón, we will focus on gathering data on the development work we are carrying out on the front tyres. Moto2™ riders will have a new front solution in the E1089 specification, which will be available alongside the SC1 soft from the range. It shares the same structure but differs through a new compound, which also belongs to the soft family. This new tyre has been designed to offer greater stability, particularly under braking: an especially important aspect at a circuit like Aragón, where braking zones are among the most demanding phases due to the characteristics of the track.
With the SC1 from the range available as an alternative, riders will be able to make a direct comparison between the two solutions, which will be useful not only to assess their performance over the race weekend but also to further our development work.
There will also be new options at the rear compared with last year’s race, when Moto2™ had two soft-compound solutions available. This year we have decided to introduce the SCX supersoft from the range, which will be joined by the new SC0 soft from the range. One year ago in June, when it was still known as the E0125 development specification, the SC0 was unanimously chosen for the race. In light of the data collected at the recent Superbike round, the supersoft solution should offer riders improved performance, not only over a single lap but also over race distance”.

Moto,Motorsport,news

The 55th edition of the Barum Czech Rally Zlín takes place from 14 to 16 August as the fifth of seven rounds in the continental championship, with Pirelli heading into the event leading the tyre suppliers’ standings after securing three victories in the first four rallies.

Twenty-three of the 73 crews entered for the ERC round will use Pirelli tyres. They include the leading contenders in the title fight: Teemu Suninen, who heads the standings with 80 points following his victory in Poland in the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, and Andrea Mabellini, second on 57 points in the Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale. Marco Bulacia will also line up on Pirelli tyres in a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2.

The Barum Rally features 13 special stages covering a total of 205.79 timed kilometres. The route alternates very fast sections with narrow and twisty stretches, on asphalt ranging from smooth surfaces to uneven and deteriorated sections. It also includes several gravel sections, where significant time gaps were recorded last year. Unlike previous editions, this year the route is completely dry on the eve of the rally, with high temperatures forecast for the weekend.

The rally will begin on Friday with qualifying and the ceremonial start, followed by the traditional night-time super special stage through the centre of Zlín. The race went to Czech rider Filip Salač (Kalex), who claimed his maiden win in the World Championship intermediate class, after a thrilling final head-to-head with Iván Ortolá (Kalex), who finished second, with Álex Escrig (Forward) completing the podium after starting from ninth on the grid. The race was highly entertaining and closely fought, with several riders alternating at the front. The early stage was dominated by poleman Izan Guevara (Boscoscuro), before he handed the lead to Daniel Holgado (Kalex), who engaged a hard-fought battle with Manuel Gonzalez (Kalex) and Tony Arbolino (Kalex). On lap seven, Arbolino - later forced to pull out from the race, after crashing in the final stages - set the new race lap record with 2'02.682, improving the previous time set by Aron Canet in 2024 (2'03.984) by more than 1.3 seconds. 23 riders lapped below the previous race lap record.

· Second win of the year for Almansa. In the Moto3™ race, most riders opted for the medium SC2 compound at both front and rear, although some chose the soft SC1 rear tyre, and O’Gorman, Rios, Rammerstorfer and Carraro went for the soft compound on both axles. In the all-KTM podium, winner David Almansa (KTM) took home his second victory of the season after starting fourth on the grid, ahead of fellow Spaniard Álvaro Carpe, second, and Argentina’s Valentin Perrone, third. The 82nd Rally Poland marks a historic change: leaving behind the gravel roads of Masuria, the event moves to the fast roads of Silesia and returns to asphalt for the first time since 2004, apart from a short 1.5-kilometre gravel section. The route comprises 15 special stages covering 187.6 timed kilometres. Among the most demanding are Gmina Jasienica, the longest stage at 19 kilometres, and Jastrzębie-Zdrój and Hażlach, both more than 17 kilometres long. Ochaby features the short section of hard gravel known as “The Swamp”, while Sunday will see the legendary Przegibek return after a 27-year absence: just 6.5 kilometres long, but with more than 50 bends and hairpins that make it one of the rally’s most technical stages.

Pirelli heads to Poland leading the tyre suppliers’ standings following the one-two finish secured by Roberto Daprà and Teemu Suninen at Rally di Roma Capitale. The podium was completed by Izan Guevara on Boscoscuro. In terms of tyres, all riders opted for the soft SC1 front, while for the back tyre, two thirds used the new F0468 specification, and the remaining third the D0922, including the three podium finishers.

· Uriarte wins and Quiles sets the race lap record. In Moto3™, almost the entire field chose to race on medium SC2 compound tyres at both the front and rear. The only exceptions were Honda riders Jesús Ríos, Joel Kelso and Nicola Carraro, who went for the soft SC1 front. The race was won by Brian Uriarte (KTM), in his second win of the season after an intense head-to-head with Championship leader Máximo Quiles (KTM), who finished second, just 63 thousandths of a second behind. Matteo Bertelle completed an all-KTM podium. Quiles also set a new race lap record in 1'25.227 on lap three, improving the previous one by almost two and a half tenths, set by Iván Ortolá in 2024 (1'25.467).

· Overall race times were significantly improved. Today’s races went at a particularly strong pace. While comparing Moto2™ results with 2025’s is not easily due, because of the different race distance (20 laps versus 25 this year). Using 2024 as the reference instead, with the same number of laps, the overall race time was around 7 seconds faster. Performance in Moto3™ also improved significantly: the 23 laps were completed in 33'02.694, more than 24 seconds faster than in 2025, with an average improvement of over one second per lap.

Major improvements in both classes compared with previous editions

“Today’s races confirmed what had already emerged over the first two days at Sachsenring. In Moto2™, both medium development rear tyres compounds proved competitive, while in Moto3™, the SC2 once again confirmed itself as the reference solution for both front and rear.
For the intermediate class, the rear tyre choice was determined above all by all riders individual preference, rather than by any clear performance indication, as it often happens when the available solutions deliver very similar levels of performance. Those who opted for the D0922 specification - including the three podium riders - chose a familiar and extensively proven solution that has consistently delivered excellent results in the past. Both specifications showed a very positive and broadly equivalent performance, with the final outcome basically depending on each rider’s interpretation and performance.
A particularly significant aspect is the overall performance level shown by the two categories. In Moto3™, the race was clearly faster than in 2025. In Moto2™ the most accurate comparison should be done with the 2024, as last year’s edition was run over a shorter distance. Here too, the improvement was clear. Finally, further confirming the high-performance level achieved, new race lap records were set in both classes, with Holgado improving the previous Moto2™ record by more than one second.”

Moto,Motorsport,news

Ambient conditions remained broadly stable between Friday and Saturday, with the morning sessions (FP1 and FP2) taking place with an air temperature close to 30°C and track temperatures between 25 and 30°C, while FP and qualifying sessions registered air temperatures slightly below 25°C and track temperatures ranging from 36°C to 43°C.

Both medium rear tyres confirm their competitive streak in Moto2™

"The first two days at the Sachsenring were very useful for gathering data and feedback on the two medium compound development rear solutions provided to Moto2™ riders. The D0922 specification is an already well-established solution, and has been used successfully on this very track last season as well, while the new F0468 made its first appearance with Moto2™ riders on Friday. While they both employ the same compound, their structure differs.
The feedback received from the riders broadly confirms the expectations that emerged during the development phase. The D0922 offers a slightly higher level of initial grip, and this made it the preferred choice for qualifying, and allowed the new all-time lap record to be set. While the F0468, despite providing a slightly lower grip in the opening laps, allows managing wear more effectively and ensures greater performance consistency over the distance. This is why we believe the new solution will be the main choice for many riders in tomorrow’s race. As for the front, the soft SC1 continues to be the go-to option for the entire grid.
In Moto3™, on the other hand, we expect the scenario to be roughly similar to what we have witnessed last season, with the medium SC2 being the almost unanimous choice for the back tyre, and also widely preferred at the front, although some riders may opt for the soft SC1, based on to their own set-ups and riding style".

Moto,Motorsport,news

For the occasion, Pirelli will provide WorldSBK riders with the softest rear solutions from the 2026 standard range, representing a further step forward in development compared with last year, when riders had access exclusively to tyres from the previous standard range.

· Extrasoft for qualifying and the Superpole Race. On a circuit featuring significant elevation changes and a layout that combines a fast-opening section with a sequence of long, high-speed corners and a slower final sector with just one particularly demanding heavy braking zone, the benchmark rear option for qualifying and, potentially, also for the Superpole Race will be the SCQ extrasoft compound. It is the softest solution in the entire Pirelli range and was already highly appreciated by riders at the Emilia-Romagna Round for its outstanding performance both over a single flying lap and across the Superpole Race distance. The rear allocation is completed by the SCX supersoft and SC0 soft compounds, while at the front riders will have the standard SC1 soft and SC2 medium solutions available. Last year, the vast majority of the grid, including race winner Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, who claimed victory in all three races, opted for the softer front option.

· Unpredictable weather. Weather conditions have traditionally been one of the main variables of the British round, where low temperatures—particularly during the early morning sessions—and the possibility of rain can significantly affect the work of riders and teams. In these scenarios, the Pirelli range has repeatedly demonstrated outstanding versatility, delivering effective and consistent performance across a wide range of air and track temperatures, ensuring a high level of grip and performance in both cooler and hotter conditions. Should wet weather occur, the allocation is completed with DIABLO™ Wet intermediate tyres and DIABLO™ Rain tyres for both front and rear.

· The other classes. For the WorldSSP riders, the rear allocation remains unchanged with the SCX supersoft and SC0 soft standard solutions, while the front options are the soft SC1 and medium SC2 compounds. Also racing this weekend are the riders of the WorldWCR, together with the rising talents of the Yamaha R3 World Cup, both championships using Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike SC1 tyres on both front and rear.

Donington Park is a circuit where stability and grip make all the difference

“Donington Park is a very distinctive circuit and, in many respects, a unique venue on the FIM Superbike World Championship calendar. The opening part of the lap features a series of fast, flowing corners taken at high speed and rapid changes of direction that require riders to manage significant power while the bike is still heavily leaned over. This demands tyres capable of delivering outstanding grip, precision and stability, while maintaining consistent performance over race distance.
Compared with last year, when only standard range solutions were available and no development specifications were included, this season, while confirming the same compounds introduced in 2025, we will provide riders with the complete 2026 standard range. The SCQ extrasoft compound will be the softest option in the allocation and can be used not only in free practice and qualifying but also, potentially, in the Superpole Race. For the longer races, riders will be able to rely on the SCX supersoft and, should temperatures be lower, the SC0 soft compound—solutions that have already demonstrated throughout the season an excellent balance between outright performance and consistency, as reflected by the many new records that have been set.
Finally, the weather, which has historically been unpredictable in the UK, will once again be a key factor. Rain and low temperatures, even in the middle of summer, can have a major influence on tyre management and race strategies. Having a complete and versatile range available will therefore be essential to provide the best possible support in any weather conditions".

Moto,Motorsport,news

Although it is new to this championship, this solution has already been used successfully in WorldSBK at Most, another circuit that is particularly severe on tyres.
The F0468 uses the same compound as the D0922, already well known and appreciated by the riders, but combines it with a new-generation structure developed to increase stability and consistency of performance over the entire race distance. The Rally di Roma Capitale, the third round of the continental series and also counting towards the Italian Absolute Rally Championship (CIAR Sparco), features a substantially revised route this year, comprising 11 special stages and a total of 197 competitive kilometres. The new itinerary presents fresh technical challenges, significant elevation changes and constant changes of pace. Particular attention will focus on Piana di Rascino (SS3/SS6) and Vallecupola (SS2/SS5), both scheduled for Saturday. The former, the longest stage of the rally, combines high-speed sections with more technical stretches, while the latter demands absolute precision along a mountain route featuring frequent changes of rhythm and considerable elevation differences.

A total of 110 crews will start the event, 34 of them running on Pirelli tyres. The Spaniard was in fact the only rider to opt for the medium SC2 compound at the rear and one of the few to use it at the front as well. Completing the front row are Joel Kelso (Honda) and Brian Uriarte (KTM), both on the soft SC1 solution on both axles.

· Exceptional temperatures and grip at minimum levels. This edition of the Dutch Grand Prix will be remembered as one of the hottest ever, with air temperatures exceeding 35 degrees and track temperatures above 50 °C. Qualifying, for example, took place with air temperatures of 34 degrees Celsius and track temperatures of 47 degrees. The TT Circuit Assen normally offers limited grip, which decreases further in high temperatures.

Positive performance despite the low-grip asphalt caused by extreme temperatures

“The exceptional heatwave affecting the whole of Europe has not spared Assen, where particularly high air and track temperatures were recorded over the first two days. The extreme temperatures recorded, with the surface exceeding 50 °C, further reduced mechanical grip increasing the risk of sliding and spinning.
In this context, the soft compound solutions proved to be the most effective, thanks to their ability to adapt to the micro-irregularities of the surface, ensuring the best level of grip and traction, although Quiles took pole in Moto3™ with medium SC2 compound tyres both at the front and rear, bucking the trend. Looking ahead to the race, we expect the soft compounds to be widely used in Moto2™, with the SC1 at the front and the SC0 at the rear, while in Moto3™ the SC1 should be the benchmark for both axles, although in this category some riders will also opt for the medium SC2, particularly at the front.
Rainfall is forecast overnight, which could reset track evolution, while a significant drop in temperatures is expected tomorrow, potentially creating a very different scenario compared with what we have seen so far”.

Moto,Motorsport,news

In particular, as was also the case in 2025, the rear soft tyres, SC0 for Moto2™ and SC1 for Moto3™, are expected to confirm themselves as the preferred choice throughout the weekend, the races included. With the high temperatures typical of this time of year, and even more so with the heatwave currently affecting the whole of Europe, the softer solutions can offer higher grip levels, best compensating for what the asphalt is unable to provide, with these high temperatures.

· Both front options are valid alternatives. At Assen, the front does not present any particular critical issues, but it can play a key role because it must be very stable and precise in order to respond to the fast corners and frequent changes of direction. A tyre is therefore needed that can offer stability, precise feedback to the rider and consistency over the full distance. As already seen last year, both front solutions, the soft SC1 and the medium SC2, could be valid alternatives depending on the rider’s riding style and the characteristics of the different bikes.

· The Cathedral of Speed. The TT Circuit Assen is known as the ‘Cathedral of Speed’ not so much for its top speeds, but for its unique layout made up of a sequence of fast corners that require high average speeds and great riding fluidity, characteristics that highlight the technical abilities of individual riders. From a tyre perspective, the circuit is particularly demanding because it generates continuous lateral loads and significant thermal stress, while the low abrasiveness of the asphalt shifts the challenge more towards structural fatigue than pure wear. The absence of heavy braking areas also makes warm-up more complex, a factor accentuated by often variable weather conditions. The result is a strong demand for stability, consistent performance and precision in changes of direction throughout the lap.

With high temperatures, rear soft solutions are certainly favoured

“The Assen circuit represents a unique test bench on the calendar due to its extremely flowing layout, which requires riders to maintain a high and consistent pace throughout the lap. The particular configuration of the track mainly rewards cornering precision and the ability to manage load transfers progressively, aspects that highlight the correct balance of the bike and the overall effectiveness of the tyre package. In this context, it becomes essential to guarantee predictable and uniform behaviour, capable of supporting the rider through rapid changes of direction and high-speed cornering phases. Considering the high temperatures expected, the rear soft solutions, SC0 in Moto2™ and SC1 in Moto3™, represent a particularly effective option thanks to the higher level of grip they offer. The front, although not presenting any marked critical issues, plays a fundamental role in terms of stability, precision and consistent performance, all indispensable elements on such a fast track. For this reason, both available solutions, soft SC1 and medium SC2, can represent valid alternatives depending on riding style and the characteristics of each bike.”

Moto,Motorsport,news

This in an important milestone in the development journey that will lead the company towards its role as the sole tyre supplier for the premier class of the FIM Road Racing World Championship from 2027 onwards. The solutions developed by Pirelli were tested by Marc Márquez and Fermín Aldeguer for Ducati, Marco Bezzecchi and Raúl Fernández for Aprilia, Luca Marini and Joan Mir for Honda, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu for Yamaha, and Pedro Acosta for KTM, along with test riders Daniel Pedrosa and Pol Espargaró for KTM, and Augusto Fernández for Yamaha.

The test day - held mostly in sunny weather in the morning and under slightly cloudier skies from mid-afternoon, with air and track temperatures similar to those registered during the race weekend - was attended by all five Manufacturers competing in the FIM Road Racing World Championship, with two bikes each. In some cases, they were prototypes of the 850 cc machines that will debut next year, and in others the current bikes adapted to simulate the 2027 technical configuration. Pirelli asked each Manufacturer to provide at least one racing rider, plus one or two test riders on the second bike. The testing programme was agreed in advance with the Manufacturer and IRTA, included different run plans for the two bikes provided by each Manufacturer to maximise data collection and allow Pirelli technicians and the Manufacturers engineers to evaluate the development solutions being tested more effectively. The contracted riders’ presence allowed the integration of information already collected in previous tests with actual feedback of the MotoGP™ performance level, providing useful elements that will be helpful in defining the tyres designed for the new generation of bikes.

At the end of the test, Giorgio Barbier, Pirelli Motorcycle Racing Director, said: “I would like to thank the riders and Manufacturers for their helpfulness and for the enthusiasm they showed in such a significant test on our journey toward the MotoGP™ 2027. The run plans were demanding, with many solutions to evaluate, after a race weekend characterised by high temperatures, and just a few days before the next Grand Prix. After the private sessions that were so far held only with test riders, in Brno we were finally able to gather useful feedback on 2027 tyres for the future 850 cc bikes also from some contracted riders.
All Manufacturers completed the programmes we’d agreed on, with differentiated run plans for the two bikes to maximise data collection, and some riders also carried out Sprint Race simulations and full race-distance runs. The collaboration with riders and Manufacturers continues to be highly constructive and developments are progressing according to plan. The data collected today, along with those from the next private tests and from the September test after the Austrian GP and the end-of-season test in Valencia, will be fundamental in defining the final characteristics of the 2027 range”.

Today’s test was the first of three sessions scheduled during the season with racing riders. The next ones will take place on the Monday following the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, and on the Tuesday after the final Grand Prix of the season in Valencia.
Pirelli’s journey towards joining the MotoGP™ in 2027 began last year at the Misano circuit, on the Tuesday following the San Marino and Rimini Riviera Grand Prix, with a first test completed by test riders. This was followed by numerous private sessions, still with test riders, to continue the developments that led to the definition of the tyres tested today at Brno.

Indeed, 2027 will mark a major change for MotoGP™, with the engine capacity decreasing from the current 1000 cc to 850 cc, and other significant changes being introduced in terms of aerodynamics and bike set-up, including the elimination of front and rear ride-height devices. In this scenario, the joint work between Pirelli, the riders and the Manufacturers is and will be crucial to reach the new technical era, while delivering the performance, safety and show worthy of the FIM Road Racing World Championship’s premier class.

Moto,Motorsport,news

The Frenchman piloted his Pirelli-shod Ford Super Mustang Mach-E to a time of 8'18"202, securing his sixth career crown as King of the Mountain.

On the fabled 19.99-kilometre course, with its 156 turns climbing to the 4,302-metre summit of Pikes Peak, Pirelli also lined up alongside reigning champion Simone Faggioli, who took to the wheel of the Nova Proto NP01 ATM Bardahl.

Having claimed pole position on Thursday – and having dominated free practice and qualifying alongside the French champion – Faggioli had been among the firm favourites for outright victory. However, the Italian driver was hampered by a technical issue during the ascent, which compromised his performance. Despite this setback, he managed to finish third overall, once again underlining the competitiveness of the driver-car-Pirelli package.

Terenzio Testoni, Rally Activity Manager at Pirelli and co-ordinator of the project alongside Matteo Braga, Circuit Activity Manager, commented:

"Pikes Peak continues to prove itself one of the most demanding races in the world – for drivers, for cars and for tyres. This year, we experienced a shift from approximately 20 degrees Celsius on the asphalt at the start to sub-zero temperatures at the summit, an exceptional thermal range concentrated over fewer than twenty kilometres. Under such conditions, consistency of performance is absolutely critical. Dumas's victory demonstrates the effectiveness of our collaboration with Ford, while Faggioli's third place – achieved despite the issues that curtailed his potential – reaffirms the competitiveness of our tyres even in the most punishing arena of international motorsport."

To meet the challenge of the American event, Pirelli supplied its teams with P Zero tyres developed for markedly different requirements. Faggioli ran on 13-inch P Zero Hillclimb tyres, while Dumas competed on 18-inch P Zero tyres derived from GT racing, specifically optimised for the Ford electric vehicle.

news,Pikes Peak,Motorsport

Behind Alonso, local hero Filip Salač and Daniel Holgado completed an all-Kalex front row. In qualifying, all riders used soft SC1 compound tyres at the front, and soft SC0 at the back - solutions best suited to the high temperatures registered over the first two days.

· Third consecutive pole for Almansa. After those achieved at the Italian and Hungarian Grands Prix, David Almansa (KTM) secured pole position at the Brno Moto3™, with 2'04.069, setting the new all-time lap record for the category in the process. This way, the Spanish rider brought the season total to four poles, and improved the previous benchmark, set by Guido Pini in 2025 (2'05.019), by almost one second, making the most of the soft SC1 compound tyres’ performance on both axles. With the same compounds as the poleman, Hakim Danish (KTM) qualified second, while Máximo Quiles (KTM), third on the grid, opted for medium SC2 compound tyres on both front and rear.

· Significantly higher temperatures than in 2025. The 2026 edition has so far been characterised by markedly higher temperatures than the previous year, when the GP was held in July. During qualifying, for example, air temperatures exceeded 30°C and track temperatures reached 50°C, compared with 23°C and 36°C recorded in 2025. Higher temperatures affect the natural grip level on asphalt, requiring the tyre compounds to work even harder to ensure performance and consistency.

New lap-time benchmarks set, despite the high temperatures

“On the first two days at Brno, we have garnered extremely positive feedback in terms of tyre performance in both categories. In Moto3™, lap times improved steadily from FP1 onwards, with the lap record lowered in every session through to qualifying, where Almansa set the new benchmark at 2’04.069, reducing the previous record by almost one second. In Moto2™, Salac broke the record for the first time on Saturday morning’s FP2, before it was further improved in qualifying by Alonso, who lowered last year’s record by six tenths.
This performance evolution is also attributable to the excellent track conditions and to teams and riders increasingly familiarising with our product range. It is particularly significant to note that these results were achieved using the same tyre solutions available in 2025, confirming our products’ solid performance and their ability to adapt to different technical contexts and operating conditions.
Air and track temperatures were significantly higher than last year, making these results even more relevant and underlining how versatile our solutions are, and their ability to deliver consistent performances across a wide range of usage conditions.
As for tomorrow’s races, in Moto2™ we expect all riders to confirm the soft solutions seen in action during qualifying. And in Moto3™, the medium SC2 will almost certainly be the preferred compound for both axles”.

Moto,Motorsport,news

Pirelli at Pikes Peak with Faggioli and Dumas

<pp:caseid>758510</pp:caseid>

Pirelli returns to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, one of the most celebrated and exacting hillclimbs in the world, alongside two of the most eagerly anticipated protagonists of the 2026 edition, who have already made their mark during testing: the reigning champion Simone Faggioli, at the wheel of the Nova Proto NP01 ATM Bardahl, and Romain Dumas, campaigning the Ford Super Mustang Mach-E, an electric machine with which the Frenchman aims to reaffirm his status as one of the absolute benchmark drivers in the ‘Race to the Clouds’.

The race, now in its 104th edition, takes place on Sunday 21 June 2026 on the course that climbs towards the summit of Pikes Peak, in Colorado. The route measures approximately 19.99 kilometres, features 156 corners and takes competitors from the start at 2,862 metres to the finish at 4,300 metres, with an elevation gain of around 1,440 metres. The altitude, the often dirty asphalt, the wind and the speed with which weather conditions can change make the event an extreme technical test for drivers, cars and tyres.

Pirelli will tackle the challenge with P Zero tyres developed and optimised for very different requirements. Faggioli will use 13-inch P Zero Hillclimb tyres, specific to his Nova Proto NP01 ATM Bardahl. Dumas will instead be equipped with 18-inch P Zero tyres of GT derivation, adapted to the characteristics of the Ford Super Mustang Mach-E and to the power outputs of the electric vehicle.

The technical reference on the roads of Colorado is entrusted to the Pirelli team led by Terenzio Testoni, Rally Activity Manager, and Matteo Braga, Circuit Activity Manager, who are responsible for the Pikes Peak 2026 project.

"At Pikes Peak, the weather can become the determining factor of the race, with conditions ranging from dry to rain, all the way to snow, not to mention the wind as we saw last year," explains Testoni, who will direct operations on site. “To that we must add the altitude: internal combustion engines lose performance as they climb towards the summit, while electric vehicles do not suffer the same drop in power. But the advantage is only theoretical, because on electric cars weight remains a decisive factor. The goal is the record, but in the event of rain, it will be impossible to achieve it. In addition, this year there is the new factor of the resurfacing of the final section just one week before the race, which will have an effect on the choice of the right set-up.”

"Pirelli brings to its competing teams a development effort on two very different tyre families, both called upon to respond to a competition in which pure performance counts, but is not enough. On the mountain, as the organisers say, the mountain always decides, but being able to rely on high-performance and reliable tyres can make the difference, precisely in the most extreme race conditions and with temperatures that can range from 20 degrees at the start to around freezing at the summit," comments Braga.

In 2025, the race was shortened due to gusts exceeding 100 km/h on the upper section of the course; the finish was moved to Glen Cove, at a lower altitude than the summit, making any attempt at an outright record impossible.

For Faggioli, Pikes Peak 2026 represents the ideal defence of a historic success. In 2025, the Florentine driver claimed overall victory, becoming King of the Mountain with a time of 3'37"196 on the shortened course, at the wheel of the Nova Proto NP01 Bardahl. Behind him was Dumas himself, winner of the Pikes Peak Open class with the Ford Super Mustang Mach-E in 3'42"252. In that edition, the Pirelli P Zero-shod cars occupied the top five overall positions.

The 2025 result completed a journey that Faggioli began in 2018, when the multiple Italian and European hillclimb champion made his Pikes Peak debut, finishing second overall with the Norma M20 SF PKP in 8'37"230, behind Dumas.

The French champion, for his part, remains one of the most important names in the recent history of the race. Dumas has won the King of the Mountain title on multiple occasions and in 2018 set the outright Pikes Peak record, becoming the first driver to go under eight minutes on the full course.

His collaboration with Ford has already produced significant results: in 2023, Dumas set the Electric Modified Truck/Van class record with the Pirelli-shod Ford Performance SuperVan 4.2 in 8'47"682, while in 2024 he claimed his fifth overall victory at Pikes Peak with the Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck, also equipped with P Zero tyres.

news,Pikes Peak,Motorsport

For the intermediate class, the available front compounds are soft SC1 and medium SC2, to be paired with the soft SC0 and medium D0922 development rear. The standard SC0 rear was the race benchmark last year, when it was introduced as development specification E0125, while the D0922 development specification was already made available to Moto2™ riders in 2025 at the Sachsenring, Brno and Phillip Island Grands Prix.

· Moto3™ allocation. Each Moto3™ rider will have 8 front tyres in soft SC1 compound and 8 in medium SC2 compound. For the rear, the allocation includes 8 soft SC1 units and 8 medium SC2 units. In 2025, the SC2 was the most widely used race solution on both axles.

· An excellent proving ground. The Brno circuit features a highly articulated layout, characterised by 14 corners in total, 8 right-handers and 6 left-handers, and 13 straights of varying lengths ranging from 35 to more than 636 metres. Corner radii between 50 and 300 metres create a combination of medium-to-high-speed sections and heavier braking zones, resulting in significant variations in the longitudinal and lateral loads acting on the tyre. The track also stands out for its total elevation change of 73.75 metres, with gradients reaching 7.5% uphill and 5% downhill.

Brno, a rather demanding track especially for the front end

“At 5.403 kilometres, Automotodrom Brno is one of the longest circuits on the Grand Prix calendar. Its layout stands out for its constant and sudden changes in elevation, with a sequence of heavy braking zones and hard acceleration areas that generate high thermal loads and a higher level of tyre wear than at other tracks.
The high demand for precision on corner entry places significant stress on the front end, particularly in the right-hand turns, making front tyre behaviour a decisive factor for stability and the feeling transmitted to the rider.
In the case of Moto2™, the data gathered at the previous edition show that the soft compounds ensured an adequate level of grip and consistency over race distance on both axles. Consequently, a similar trend can reasonably be expected this year, with the use of the rear SC0, already used at Brno in 2025 as development specification E0125, and the standard front SC1.
In Moto3™, on the other hand, the lighter bikes struggle more to bring the softer compounds up to temperature, with a resulting increase in wear. It is therefore likely that, in the race, the medium SC2 solution will be preferred on both axles, as already seen in 2025.”

Moto,Motorsport,news

Arenas claims WorldSSP Race 2</pp:subtitle>

· There’s no stopping Bulega. Another flawless weekend for Nicolò Bulega, who continued his dominant run aboard his Ducati by conquering the Misano World Circuit in the seventh round of the FIM Superbike World Championship. The Italian rider won all three races of the weekend, each time finishing ahead of team-mate Iker Lecuona and Yari Montella to complete all-Ducati podiums. With 25 consecutive victories, the championship leader further extends an already remarkable record. In Race 2, as in yesterday’s contest, all riders started on standard Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike supersoft SCX rear tyres, while the soft SC1 was the preferred front option, with the sole exception of Manzi, who chose the medium SC2. Compared to last year’s Race 2, held in temperatures 8°C cooler than today’s 56°C track temperature, the race was 5.2 seconds faster overall, with an average lap-time improvement of 0.248 seconds.

· SCQ scores a clean sweep in the Superpole Race. The Misano weekend marked the debut of the new extrasoft SCQ as a standard tyre, having first appeared last season as development specification E0479. Chosen by every rider for the Superpole Race, it enabled Bulega—once again victorious ahead of Lecuona and Yari Montella—to set a new race lap record of 1’31.945 on lap four of the 10-lap contest. The time was six tenths quicker than the benchmark he had established in Race 1 the previous day and 0.742 seconds faster than the previous record set by Toprak Razgatlıoğlu in 2024. Compared to last year’s edition, won by Razgatlıoğlu using the harder supersoft compound, the sprint race was 10.5 seconds faster overall, corresponding to an average lap-time gain of more than one second per lap. As for the front tyre choice, all riders selected the soft SC1 specification, Manzi again being the only exception.

· Arenas bounces back in Supersport. After narrowly missing victory by a few metres in yesterday’s race, Albert Arenas (Yamaha) responded immediately by taking a commanding solo win in WorldSSP Race 2 ahead of Tom Booth-Amos (Triumph) and Aldi Mahendra (Yamaha). All riders opted for the soft SC1 front and soft SCX rear combination. In WorldSPB Race 2, victory went to David Salvador (Kawasaki). Maria Herrera completed a double in WorldWCR Race 2 after a lengthy battle with Beatriz Neila, while Muklada Sarapuech secured third place to become the first Thai female rider to claim a podium finish in a world championship competition.

Superpole Race run at record pace on the SCQ, a tyre available to all riders on the market

"We conclude the Pirelli Emilia-Romagna Round with great satisfaction and outstanding results across every area, from new outright lap records in both qualifying and race conditions to race-pace improvements of around one second per lap.
Both the supersoft SCX rear, used in the long races, and the SCQ, selected for Superpole and the Superpole Race, delivered an exceptionally high level of performance. For the occasion, Pirelli will make available to all SBK riders the new standard-range SCQ extrasoft specification, the result of the development work carried out throughout 2025. This is a solution already well known and appreciated under its development code E0479, which made its first appearance at the Misano round last season before also being used at Balaton Park, Magny-Cours, Estoril and Jerez. The SCQ, the softest solution in the entire Pirelli range, retains the same compound as its predecessor but features an innovative carcass designed to improve stability and durability. It will be the reference tyre for the qualifying session and the Superpole Race, while also being available for use during free practice sessions.

· SCX or SC0 for the long races - Alongside the new SCQ, the two standard-range rear options designated for the longer races of the Pirelli Emilia-Romagna Round will be the supersoft SCX and soft SC0, two solutions that riders know very well and use regularly. At the front, the usual soft SC1 and medium SC2 standard-range options will be available. In wet conditions, the allocation is completed on both axles by DIABLO™ Wet intermediate tyres and DIABLO™ Rain wet-weather tyres.

· The other classes. The SCX supersoft and SC0 soft standard-range solutions also form part of the allocation for the WorldSSP Championship, where the soft SC1 and medium SC2 front options are likewise confirmed. The Italian race weekend programme is completed by the Sportbike World Championship and the WorldWCR Championship, both of which use Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike tyres in SC1 compound at both the front and rear.

The SCQ completes the renewal of the rear tyre range

“For the Emilia-Romagna Round – a circuit we know extremely well, having hosted races for many years as well as numerous manufacturer tests throughout the season – we are bringing the new 2026 standard-range SCQ extrasoft as the designated Superpole rear tyre, a specification that until last year was known as the E0479 development solution. Introduced in the FIM Superbike World Championship at Misano last season and designed with an innovative carcass to deliver greater stability, a larger contact patch and improved performance consistency, the new standard-range SCQ follows the same development philosophy that led to the production versions of the current DIABLO™ Superbike SCX and SC0, both of which were development specifications in 2025.
The SCQ was the final piece needed to complete the renewal of our rear tyre range which, it is worth noting, is now also available for purchase by all riders through the Pirelli dealer network, both for racing use and for track-day activities.
In addition to assessing the behaviour of the SCQ, it will also be interesting to see how the SCX supersoft performs. After serving as the reference tyre for Superpole and the Superpole Race at Aragón, this weekend it could prove to be the most competitive option for the long races given the high temperatures expected".

Moto,Motorsport,news

In Moto3™, Quiles lowered last year’s lap time by more than half a second, and in Moto2™, Gonzales improved the previous record by almost five tenths. In qualifying, due to higher temperatures that made the track more slippery and affected the grip level, the riders were unable to improve the times set in the morning.
In view of tomorrow’s races, we expect a unanimous choice by all intermediate class riders, as the soft SC1 front and supersoft SCX rear combo has proven to be the most competitive yet. Drawing on the information gathered last season, Pirelli has chosen to offer Moto2™ riders a softer rear allocation, introducing the supersoft SCX at the Hungarian track alongside the soft SC0, which was the benchmark race solution in 2025. Interestingly however, this is not the SCX’s absolute debut at this circuit: the same compound was already used at the beginning of May during the Hungarian WorldSBK round.

· Allocation per rider. Each Moto2™ rider will have 8 front tyres available in the soft SC1 compound and 8 in the medium SC2 compound. At the rear, the allocation includes 9 supersoft SCX tyres and 8 soft SC0 tyres. The maximum number of tyres that can be used over the weekend remains unchanged, as set out in the regulations, at 17 in total, comprising 8 fronts and 9 rears.

· Moto3™. For the entry class of the Motorcycle World Championship, the soft SC1 and medium SC2 compound options will be available on both axles and can be freely combined by the riders. In 2025, most of the grid tackled the race with the soft SC1 at the rear, paired at the front in some cases with the soft SC1 and in others with the medium SC2.

At Balaton with the aim of making a further step forward

“When we head to a new circuit, our initial approach is always cautious: we prefer to opt for solutions that are not excessively soft, so as to guarantee an adequate safety margin should the track prove particularly demanding on tyres. That is why, last season at Balaton, Moto2™ riders had the soft SC0 available as the softer rear option and the medium SC1 as the alternative. This year, on the basis of the data collected in 2025, which showed that the track and its asphalt are not particularly demanding on tyres, we decided to offer an allocation that is one step softer introducing the supersoft SCX at this circuit. It is not an absolute debut on this track for this tyre, as it was already used successfully by WorldSBK riders at the beginning of May, but we believe this compound can also allow Moto2™ riders to make a significant step forward both over a single flying lap and in race pace, thanks to the high levels of grip it is able to provide”.

Moto,Motorsport,news

After winning Race 1 and the Superpole Race, the championship leader also took victory in Race 2. It was Bulega’s sixth hat-trick of the season and his 22nd consecutive win. The Italian rider finished ahead of Iker Lecuona (Ducati) and Sam Lowes (Ducati). On the front, all three riders used Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike standard medium SC2 tyres, a choice shared by three other riders on the grid, while the remaining 15 opted for the soft SC1. Together with Somkiat Chantra (Honda), he was one of only two riders to select the SC0 rear, while the rest of the field opted for the supersoft SCX. After a defensive opening phase, the Ducati rider closed the gap in the second half of the race, taking victory ahead of Lecuona and Lowes and setting a new race lap record on the tenth and final lap. His time of 1'47.709 was 0.226 seconds quicker than the previous record of 1'47.935, set two years ago by Toprak Razgatlıoğlu. As for front tyre choices, all riders selected the soft SC1 except Remy Gardner (Yamaha), who opted for the medium SC2.

· Masia victorious in Supersport Jaume Masia (Ducati) claimed victory in WorldSSP Race 2, beating Albert Arenas (Yamaha) and Matteo Ferrari (Ducati). Despite very high temperatures, including track temperatures beyond 50°C today, the continuous evolution of the circuit allowed riders to progressively improve their lap times throughout the weekend.
In terms of outright performance, both softer rear options enabled Bulega to set new benchmarks. After establishing a new outright lap record in Superpole with the supersoft SCX, the Championship leader repeated the feat in the Superpole Race, setting a new race lap record using the standard soft SC0. This was the same standard specification with which he won here last year and one that had already provided him with positive feedback from the opening practice sessions. The result is particularly significant considering that Bulega was one of only two riders to choose this option, while the rest of the grid opted for the supersoft SCX. The extremely narrow margin at the finish compared with Lecuona, who was using the SCX, confirmed that both solutions were fully competitive for fighting for victory.
The front options available to the teams also delivered excellent performance, as demonstrated by the winning use of the soft SC1 in the Superpole Race and the medium SC2 in both Race 1 and Race 2. These results provide further confirmation of the effectiveness of Pirelli’s continuous development work over recent years, which has enabled the company to offer riders a reliable and highly competitive range in all conditions. This also extends to everyday motorcyclists who can use, on track and during track days, the very same tyres featured in the FIM Superbike World Championship”.

Moto,Motorsport,news

The Italian rider led an all-Ducati podium, joined by teammate Álvaro Bautista and Sam Lowes. On a grid where every rider opted for the standard SC0 soft rear tyre from Pirelli’s range, the three podium finishers selected the standard SC2 medium front, a choice also made by four other riders among the 22 starters. Nine riders chose the SC1 soft front, while six opted for the E1164 development soft front, making its second appearance of the season. Completed in 32’46.379, the race was five seconds faster than the corresponding 2025 contest, despite being run with track temperatures 9°C higher, equating to an average lap-time improvement of 0.270 seconds.

· SCX delivers another record-breaking performance. Earlier in the day, during the WorldSBK Superpole session that determined the starting grid, Bulega lowered the Aragón all-time lap record twice within a matter of minutes. Using the standard SCX supersoft rear tyre, he first recorded a time of 1’47.284, shaving 0.048 seconds off the previous benchmark of 1’47.332 that he had set last year. On his second attempt, he broke the 1’47 barrier altogether, establishing a new all-time lap record of 1’46.836, an improvement of 0.496 seconds over the previous mark. Lecuona also broke the 2025 record, securing second place on the grid with a lap of 1’47.312.

· The other classes. Like almost the entire field, the top three used Pirelli’s standard SC1 soft front and SC0 soft rear combination. The only exception was Denmark’s Simon Jespersen, who opted for the SC2 medium front. In a World Sportbike Race 1 shortened to five laps following an incident, David Salvador (Kawasaki) took victory. The category uses Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike tyres in SC1 compound at both the front and rear. After a Friday affected by track temperatures close to 60°C and a circuit that was still lacking rubber, the natural evolution of the track allowed lap times to improve significantly.
In Superpole, the new standard SCX enabled Bulega to beat last year’s lap record by half a second, confirming its outstanding performance even under particularly demanding conditions. This is a significant step forward, achieved even with rather high track temperatures such as today’s. It was the weekend of Finland’s Mikko Heikkilä, who claimed a commanding victory in his Pirelli-equipped Škoda Fabia at Rally Scandinavia, which concluded yesterday in Karlstad as the second round of the FIA European Rally Championship.

The Scorpion AT tyres, making their debut on the Swedish event, proved decisive in the victory. On Saturday, when light rain affected part of the day, Heikkilä was able to rely on the consistency and performance levels of both the soft AT6 and supersoft AT8 compounds. On Sunday’s dry gravel stages, the soft-compound AT6 was the dominant choice.

In the opening part of the rally, another Pirelli-equipped driver took centre stage: young Estonian talent Jaspar Vaher, of Toyota Gazoo Racing, before a small mistake dropped him down the order. A similar fate befell Teemu Suninen, who, in his Pirelli-equipped Škoda Fabia, had taken the lead on the second leg until special stage 14.

“It was an exciting rally and an important test bench for our tyres, with a more than positive outcome,” commented Terenzio Testoni, Pirelli Rally Activity Manager. “Victory at Rally Scandinavia already consolidates our leadership in the dedicated tyre manufacturers’ standings after just the second round. In just over a month’s time, at the beginning of July, Rally di Roma will provide another opportunity to test our technological solutions and our ambitions on asphalt.”

The M-Sport Fiesta Rally3 Trophy, supplied exclusively by Pirelli, was dominated by Ville Vatanen.

news,Motorsport,ERC

The latter made its debut this year at the Spanish Grand Prix, where it was used by the majority of riders in the race. The two solutions share the same structure but differ in compound, and in the case of the F0192, the aim is to ensure reduced wear and greater performance consistency.

· New solutions for Mugello. Neither the standard SCX nor the development supersoft F0192 have previously been used by Moto2™ riders at this circuit. The standard SCX offered this year is in fact different from the one used last season, as it is the E0126 development specification promoted in 2026 to the new standard supersoft.

· How it was in 2025. In last year’s races at this Grand Prix, in Moto2™ all riders used the 2025 standard SCX rear, paired in most cases with the SC1 soft at the front. In Moto3™, the choice was unanimous for the SC1 soft rear, while at the front 14 out of 26 riders opted for the SC2 medium and the remainder for the SC1 soft.

The comparison between supersoft rears in Moto2™ continues

“In 2024, the year of Pirelli’s debut in the World Championship, at Mugello the Moto2™ riders raced using the standard SC0 soft rear, the softest solution among those available. Following the analyses carried out, it emerged that the circuit, although placing tyres under considerable stress due to its frequent changes of direction and elevation, fast corners and heavy braking, does not have particularly abrasive asphalt and therefore tyre wear is fairly limited.
On the basis of this evidence, last year we decided to introduce the SCX supersoft rear as well, with which the riders achieved a further performance improvement in terms of lap times.
For this edition, given Mugello’s suitability for the use of very soft solutions, riders will be able to rely not only on the new standard SCX, introduced last year as the E0126 development specification, but also on a further supersoft alternative, the F0192, which debuted at the Spanish Grand Prix and was used in the race by many riders. In both cases, these are solutions never previously tried on the Italian circuit but are already familiar to the riders, particularly as regards the standard SCX which has already been used in races this year at the United States, Spanish and French Grands Prix.
It will therefore be interesting to see which of the two supersoft solutions receives the greater appreciation and whether, weather conditions permitting, it will be possible to improve further both the lap record and race pace”.

Moto,Motorsport,news

After two hat-tricks in the first two races in Costa Brava, with victory for Jari-Matti Latvala, and in Costa Smeralda, with success for Angelo Lombardo, the Milan-based company brought victory in the 2026 Rallye d'Antibes - Côte d'Azur Historic, the third round of the season, to French driver Tom Pieri, at the wheel of a BMW M3 E30 from the Mats team, the leading specialist in the preparation of BMW M3 E30 rally cars, all fitted with Pirelli tyres.

The French driver dominated the rally from the very first of the 12 special stages, also thanks to the contribution of the P7 Classic range in its various versions. The medium-compound D5 version made the difference on the shorter stages, while on the longer stages, characterised by abrasive asphalt, the new evolution of the hard-compound D3D version, making its debut in the Côte d'Azur rally, proved decisive for its durability. The same performance was enjoyed by Polish driver Maciej Lubiak, who finished third in a Porsche 911 Carrera.

"Winning is always a great source of satisfaction," commented Terenzio Testoni, Pirelli's Rally Activity Manager, "but in the case of historic rallies the satisfaction is even greater, because we have built this position of predominance over time, with passion and perseverance, developing our range year after year. Debise scores a double in WorldSSP.</pp:subtitle>

· Bulega keeps his winning streak running. In the 5th round of the FIM Superbike World Championship, held at the Most circuit, Czech Republic, Nicolò Bulega (Ducati) once again confirmed his tip-top shape form by winning all three races on the programme and remaining unbeaten since the start of the season. And the Ducati Panigale V4R remains the undisputed queen of the Championship: in addition to Bulega, all three weekend podiums went to his team-mate Iker Lecuona in second place and Yari Montella in third. Compared with Race 1, in Race 2 the D0922 remained the most widely chosen rear tyre option, and the new F0468 medium specification was adopted by 5 riders, including Garrett Gerloff (Kawasaki) and Alberto Surra (Ducati), who finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

· New record-breaking SC0 soft. In the Superpole Race, everyone raced with standard soft tyres on both axles, SC1 at the front and SC0 at the rear. The SC0 is the new soft standard for 2026, known until last year as the E0125 development specification. With this tyre, the winner Bulega set the new best race lap in 1'29.920 on lap three, improving by almost three tenths the one established by Toprak Razgatlıoğlu last year (1'30.201). In addition, this year’s race, run in 15'07.499, was more than 8 seconds faster than the 2025 race (15'15.882), for an average lap-time improvement of more than eight tenths.

· Debise and ZXMOTO do it again. After winning Race 1 yesterday, Valentin Debise won also the second race of the weekend on his ZXMOTO 800RR, finishing ahead of Turkish rider Can Öncü (Yamaha). Third place went to Oly Bayliss (Triumph). All riders went for the SC1 soft front compound, paired in the vast majority of cases with the SC0 soft rear, with the exception of Ana Carrasco (Honda) and Yuki Okamoto (Yamaha), who opted for the SC1 medium rear. Jaume Masia set the new race lap record on the Ducati Panigale V2 at 1'34.130, improving by two tenths the record he had previously set last year last year (1'34.338). In addition, this year’s Race 2 was almost 12 seconds faster than last year’s.

Records achieved in part also thanks the new soft standard SC0

“The weekend at Most proved to be a concrete example of how important our development work is. In 2025, WorldSBK riders could choose two of the options that were also available this year: the SC0 soft and the D0922 medium. However, the SC0 had not proved competitive, to the point that in the Superpole Race almost all riders had chosen the D0922, which was also used in long races.
This year, by contrast, the new 2026 standard SC0, known last season as the E0125 development specification, was the go-to option for all Superpole Race riders, which was run in conditions similar to those in 2025, and boosted both the race lap record and pace significantly.
This great outcome is also a direct benefit for motorcycle riders in general, since it has become a standard product available on the market that anyone can purchase. In parallel, the medium D0922 – obtained through intensive development work -, confirmed the excellent characteristics already shown in 2025, and was highly appreciated and effective in the two long races. In Race 2, this year’s new feature, the medium F0468 specification option, proved to be enough popular and allowed Gerloff and Surra to end the race fifth and sixth respectively, becoming a valid alternative to the better-known D0922.
Lastly, I would like to congratulate Bulega and Debise, the undisputed stars of the Czech round.”

Moto,Motorsport,news

As in the intermediate class, race pace in Moto3™ also improved significantly, with the total race time 11 seconds faster and the average lap time 0.627 seconds faster than last year

Standard soft and medium compounds are highly competitive in both classes

“Sunday’s Catalan GP confirmed the progress we have seen in recent races, with very strong performance levels, even on a track that is particularly demanding on tyres, due to a highly abrasive surface and lower-than-average grip levels. In Moto2™, the improvement was clear both in terms of lap times and race distance, with the new race lap record lowered by four tenths and the overall race time improved by 15 seconds. While the winning riders went for the SC1 soft front and SC0 soft rear combos, even those who chose the SC2 medium front finished the race in leading positions, proving that it can equally be a strong race option.
Progress was also evident in the Moto3™ race, with an 11-second improvement compared to last year’s race time. While all riders selected the standard SC2 medium front – the best choice in terms of durability and continued performance in a demanding circuit such as Montmeló - rear tyre choices were almost evenly split between the SC1 soft and the SC2 medium. This decision is heavily influenced by bike setup and riding style, as both solutions proved to be competitive and effective, and the final podium shows it, with the winner and third-place finisher going for the standard medium, and the second-placed relying on the soft option”.

Moto,Motorsport,news

Starting from pole, the Italian rider won a race interrupted by a red flag, crossing the finish line ahead of team-mate Iker Lecuona and Yari Montella, in an all-Ducati podium. Meanwhile, France’s Valentin Debise, starting from sixth on the grid in WorldSSP Race 1, took his ZXMOTO to the fourth win of the season, ahead of the Yamahas duo, pole-sitter Can Öncü, second, and Albert Arenas, third. Matteo Vannucci (Aprilia) completed the winners’ line-up by winning the opening race of the SportBike World Championship weekend.

· A largely unanimous tyre choice. In WorldSBK Race 1, all riders opted for the front soft SC1 compound and, in almost every case, paired it with the rear D0922 medium development, with the only exceptions being Alex Bassani (Bimota) and Yuki Kunii (Honda), who opted for the new F0468 medium specification. In WorldSSP too, all riders chose to race with the front soft SC1 compound, mostly paired with the rear soft SC0.

· All-time lap records. In WorldSBK qualifying, where all riders used soft-compound tyres, with front SC1 and rear SC0, Bulega claimed pole in 1’29.616, a new all-time lap record that improves Razgatlioğlu’s previous benchmark set in 2024 (1’30.064) by 0.448 seconds. Runner-up Yari Montella (Ducati Barni Spark Racing Team) also lapped below the old record. In WorldSSP, Öncü took pole with a new all-time lap record in 1’33.802, cutting more than three tenths off Montella’s 2024 record time (1’34.126), while Valentin Debise (ZXMOTO), winner of WorldSSP Race 1, set the new fastest race lap in 1’34.336 on the final lap.

New records and highly convincing tyre performance

“These first two days at Most were marked by fairly low air and track temperatures, along with a bit of rain toward Friday’s end, which certainly did not help the track’s evolution. Even so, tyre performance was consistently very convincing, both in terms of flying lap pace – as the new all-time lap records set in both classes proved -, and of race distance, with Debise scoring the new fastest race lap on the very last lap. In both WorldSBK and WorldSSP, the front soft SC1 solution was the only one adopted in the race, mostly paired with the rear soft SC0 in Supersport, and with the D0922 medium development option in Superbike – a solution the riders were already familiar with, after using it in the same race last year. Even though a couple of riders went for the new F0468 specification, it was somewhat affected by its being new, and, especially on a circuit so demanding on tyres such as Most – and due to the rather low temperatures as well – the riders felt safer working with an option they already know very well, rather than trying out something new. We will see whether this changes in tomorrow’s races.”

Moto,Motorsport,news

Perrone (KTM) claims his first Moto3™ pole position</pp:subtitle>

· Celestino Vietti (Boscoscuro) will start from pole position in tomorrow’s Moto2™ race of the Grand Prix of Catalunya, on the sixth round of the World Championship. The Italian rider set the fastest time in qualifying while also establishing a new lap record for the intermediate class at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. His 1’41.076 lap was 0.473 faster than the previous record set last year by Daniel Holgado, and a further two tenths faster than the 1’41.288 registered by Manuel Gonzalez on this morning’s FP2 session. Vietti finished ahead of Dutch rider Collin Veijer (Kalex) and Gonzalez (Kalex), with all three riders using standard-range Pirelli soft SC1 front and SC0 rear compounds.

· In Moto3™, Argentina’s Valentin Perrone took home the first pole position of his career, ahead of Spanish riders David Muñoz and Brian Uriarte, all on KTMs. In a qualifying session where the top three were only 19 thousandths of a second apart, Perrone and Muñoz went for standard-range Pirelli medium SC2 front and soft SC1 rear compounds, while Uriarte opted for soft SC1 tyres on both axles.

· Cool temperatures. This weekend has proved to be quite unusual so far, with temperatures significantly lower than normally expected this time of the year. On Friday, track temperatures were as low as 13°C during the opening free practice sessions for both Moto3™ and Moto2™, before rising to 26°C in the afternoon (with air temperatures between 13°C and 16°C under mostly cloudy skies). While today, temperatures were slightly higher with qualifying being the warmest session so far, as track temperatures peaked at 38°C and air temperatures reached 20°C under clear skies.

All compounds play a central role

“Once again, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya proved to be very demanding on tyres, due to its highly abrasive asphalt, which generates greater wear than usual. With temperatures lower than average compared to previous editions, the track offered a good level of grip right from the opening sessions, while tyre behaviour has continued to improve alongside the natural circuit evolution, as confirmed by the new all-time Moto2™ lap record set first by Gonzalez in this morning’s FP2 session, and then further improved by Vietti during qualifying.
Looking ahead to the race, in Moto2™ the rear tyre choice appears to be leaning towards the standard-range soft SC0 compound, while for front tyres, teams are evaluating both options, according to each rider’s set-up and riding style. In Moto3™, the standard-range medium SC2 front compound proved to be the winning choice for the two fastest riders in qualifying and looks like the most popular option in tomorrow’s race, as this combo can provide the right level of stability, durability and consistent performance over race distance. While for rear tyre options, the choice between the soft SC1 and medium SC2 will be far more subjective, however, based on data we have collected, both options appear capable of delivering a competitive performance. Should temperatures rise further tomorrow, an overall improvement in performance should also be expected”.

Moto,Motorsport,news
