The "R" denotes their race-oriented focus, while “H” (Hard) and “M” (Mixed) indicate the terrain conditions each model is optimised for, in line with the nomenclature already established across Pirelli’s off-road range.

The CINTURATO Gravel RH and RM complete the evolution of Pirelli's gravel range, bringing together performance, control and reliability through expertise gained in motorsport and competitive XC mountain biking. Both models belong to the High-Performance Line (HP-Line), Pirelli’s premium gravel range, entirely designed and manufactured in Italy and representing Pirelli's most advanced gravel tyre technology in terms of materials, manufacturing processes and performance.

NEW RH AND RM: SPEED AND VERSATILITY

The CINTURATO Gravel RH has been engineered for hard-packed and fast terrain, where efficiency and low rolling resistance are paramount. The new tread pattern combines a fully slick centre section - maximising contact patch and rolling efficiency on both tarmac and hardpack gravel - with pronounced shoulder knobs designed to bite into the terrain and deliver precise, confident cornering at speed. Derived from the brand’s XC racing tyres, the 120 TPI ProWALL Gravel casing provides excellent ride feel, maximum control and enhanced puncture protection. This is the ideal choice for riders focused on racing and outright speed, long-distance performance and maximum efficiency. In Pirelli’s internal testing, the new tyre recorded a 17%* reduction in rolling resistance compared with the equivalent model in the Performance Line, placing it among the fastest-rolling tyres in Pirelli’s entire gravel range.

The CINTURATO Gravel RM is the versatile option for riders tackling a mix of fast tracks and more technical, rougher terrain without sacrificing speed. Its proven tread pattern (previously known as RC) delivers an excellent balance between grip and rolling efficiency, ensuring cornering stability and dependable traction under acceleration and braking across loose and mixed surfaces. Combined with the 120 TPI ProWALL Gravel casing and a broad size offering (up to 700 x 55 mm, ETRTO 55-622), the RM is a genuine one-tyre solution for gravel racing, capable of adapting to a wide variety of courses while maintaining consistent control and a smooth, balanced ride feel. Internal Pirelli testing showed a 20%* reduction in rolling resistance compared with the equivalent tyre in the Performance Line.

Both tyres feature the latest-generation SmartEVO GR compound, developed specifically by Pirelli for high-performance gravel riding. SmartEVO GR is designed to combine low rolling resistance with reliable grip in both wet and dry conditions, helping balance speed, efficiency and control across a wide range of surfaces.

A COMPLETE GRAVEL RANGE

With the introduction of the new CINTURATO Gravel RH and RM, Pirelli now offers a complete range covering the full spectrum of modern gravel riding, from pure racing to adventure and exploration: from high-speed hardpack routes and technical gravel roads to rough, demanding terrain and muddy conditions.

The range is structured around two main product families:

• HP-Line (High-Performance Line), delivering the very best of Pirelli technology applied to gravel riding. Developed and manufactured at the company’s Milan-Bollate facility, it draws on materials and manufacturing know-how developed in motorsport and XC racing. It is designed for riders seeking uncompromising speed, precision and control.

• P-Line (Performance Line), built around proven and reliable technologies already established within Pirelli’s gravel range, offering an optimal balance of performance, durability and versatility. Featuring 60 TPI TechWALL Gravel casings and the SpeedGRIP compound, it is the ideal choice for all-round gravel riding across a broad spectrum of conditions and applications.

The new CINTURATO Gravel RH and RM are available now online and through selected bicycle retailers. The High-Performance range is offered in four sidewall options, from classic Black and Classic Tan to the Retro finish and the new Team Edition featuring Pirelli’s iconic Racing Yellow labels. Sizes range from 700 x 40 mm (ETRTO 40-622) up to 700 x 55 mm (ETRTO 55-622), offering one of the widest size ranges currently available in the gravel segment.

*Internal Pirelli testing comparing RH and RM models across the two product lines.

**The FSCTM-certified natural rubber used accounts for at least 15% of the tyre’s total weight.

Published on: 15 June 2026, 11:15 CET

news,Cycling,Cinturato,Fsc

These products are made at Pirelli’s Milan-Bollate plant, which only uses natural rubber that is Forest Stewardship Council™ certified.

Made for Cross Country races, from the Short-Tracks to the Olympic races all the way to the Marathons, these new tyres certainly have a racing spirit; they have been designed specifically for the toughest competitions but can also be used for a wide range of other cross-country applications, up to a light Trail riding.

NEW RACE COMPOUND

The SCORPION XC RC and M use a new compound formula called RACE Compound. It has been developed by the Pirelli technicians of the Motorsport Compound division. Made in Italy, it represents Pirelli’s pinnacle of off-road performance in the XC discipline. It is currently the best performing compound of Pirelli’s MTB XC range and is designed to combine top chemical grip also on wet surfaces, high tear resistance and greater rolling efficiency. The ability to meet opposite needs with a single compound allows the tyre to deliver consistent performance throughout every moment of the race and across all types of terrain, as well as throughout the tyre’s lifespan – even when it’s worn out.

The new RC preserves and enhances the previous tread design, already successful and widely appreciated at all levels of use, and stands at the top of Pirelli’s Cross-Country range as the best all-rounder, offering the perfect balance between speed and grip. In Pirelli’s internal testing, it reduced rolling resistance by 7% compared to the previous model by the same name. It has been designed to guarantee excellent performance levels both in and out competition. It features the ideal tread for rocky terrains and dirt tracks, as well as compact to mid-loose, dry and wet surfaces. The new design with a more squared profile on the shoulder knobs and a 29x2.4 true size volume (optimised for wide 30c rims) provides greater control and stability in corners thanks to the greater footprint area that results from the new profile. The less round profile compared to the previous model improves the grip of the side tread blocks when leaning into corners and also provides a more immediate and responsive feeling in cornering as well as when hitting the brakes or spinning out of the pedals with a greater rear traction. It is the ideal tyre to take on technical and fast terrains: when every second matters, the SCORPION XC RC truly delivers.

The M model has been completely redesigned. It is perfect for today’s dynamic Marathon courses and is also suitable for light trail riding: it provides the perfect balance between low rolling resistance and good grip on the most slippery terrains and less compact surfaces. Pirelli’s internal testing showed that the new tyre is 9% more rolling efficient than the previous model and 12% lighter. Less weight but greater volume: the SCORPION XC M too is produced in the true size 29x2.4 volume on 30c rims. It offers great performance levels on all loose terrains, ranging from dry loose to light mud, thanks to more open tread knobs and the advanced RACE Compound. It truly delivers on highly technical tracks on which grip and handling are key. Mounted on the front wheel, it adapts to an even wider range of surfaces. The tread design is more spaced out and distributed, but its central blocks are more compact and denser, thus optimising acceleration and rolling speed without sacrificing control. The SCORPION XC M is the ideal choice for technical tracks, where speed and control over the bicycle must coexist.

LITE CASING AND NEW PROWALL

The SCORPION XC RC and M are available with two high-performing casings: the ProWALL and the LITE. Whilst the LITE preserves the well-known Pirelli characteristics of lightness and responsiveness, the new ProWALL has been redesigned compared to the previous version. It features a new fabric distribution, whilst retaining its 120 TPI Nylon, as well as reinforced sides, thus obtaining even higher levels of protection and stability, especially with low inflation pressure levels.

The new SCORPION XC RC and M tyres are already available at the best cycling shops and online, in the 29x2.4 size with two new Silver and Team Edition graphics.

The official début in races is set for the weekend of 22 June, in the XCC and XCO round of the UCI World Cup 2025 in Val di Sole.

*The percentage of natural rubber out of the total weight of the tyre is equal to about 17% for the LITE version and 20% for the ProWALL version. Long appreciated in the world of motorcycling, this versatile concept is now also available for cyclists, offering broad versatility of use.

CINTURATO EVO TLR features SmartEVO AS, Pirelli Cycling’s most advanced compound in terms of grip, vibration damping and durability. Specifically engineered for riders who seek control, comfort, and confident handling across all surfaces, this formula strikes the ideal balance of grip - ensured by the compound - even on wet roads and at low temperatures. It enhances vibration absorption and extends mileage, delivering a smooth ride even on rough terrain and in challenging weather conditions.

This cutting-edge compound offers high levels of grip in all seasons and across a variety of surfaces, significantly enhancing comfort and handling thanks to its improved ability to adapt to uneven ground and dampen vibrations**.

Manufactured in Italy at Pirelli’s Milan-Bollate plant, the CINTURATO EVO TLR is a tubeless-ready tyre designed for road cycling, commuting, and gravel riding. It features a wide range of sizes from 28-622 to 55-622, tailored for cyclists looking to venture off paved roads while preferring the smoothness of a slick tread, whatever the surface - paved or dirt. Robust and durable, this tyre is also well suited for urban use, ideal for commuting between home and work, both in the city and on outings.

OVER 50% OF ITS MATERIALS ARE BIO-BASED AND RECYCLED*, AND FSC™ CERTIFIED

The CINTURATO EVO TLR boasts over 50% of bio-based and recycled* materials, as verified by independent third-party body Bureau Veritas in accordance with ISO 14021. This is complemented by the FSC™ certification***, related to the responsible supply chain management of the natural rubber contained in the tyre, a Pirelli exclusive in the industry.

The FSC™ logo is globally recognized as a mark of environmental and social responsibility, and of high standards in both areas. FSC™ certified products come from forests managed responsibly, in accordance with rigorous environmental, social and economic criteria. Adopting this certification helps counter deforestation, protect biodiversity to preserve the natural ecosystems, and guarantees a controlled, transparent and verifiable supply chain. From a social perspective, the FSC™ standards protect the rights of the workers and local communities who live in forest areas, by promoting fair working conditions and local development.

This two-fold recognition provided by third-party bodies is an absolute record on the market, and confirms Pirelli’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint through the use of innovative materials and providing the market with reliable and verified claims.

As a way to be transparent with its users, Pirelli has also developed its own logo to display on Pirelli models with at least 50% of bio-based and recycled materials. The image, two arrows within a circle, aims to enhance Pirelli’s commitment to the circular economy, alongside and in addition to the tyre’s high level of performance safety. This logo will therefore also be present on the new CINTURATO EVO TLR bike tyres, together with the FSC™ logo.

INSPIRED BY ONE OF PIRELLI’S MOST FAMOUS AND BELOVED MOTORCYCLE TYRES

The special tread of the new CINTURATO EVO TLR maintained the grooves of one of the best Pirelli motorcycle tyres dedicated to road enduro, the SCORPION Trail III. The similar application of the two Pirelli products, both dedicated to road and adventure riding in their respective fields, has enabled a selective technology transfer from the famous motorcycle tyre to the cycling one. In fact, like its counterpart for motorbikes, the new CINTURATO EVO TLR is primarily intended for use on asphalt, but it also features a tread groove design developed to handle dirt roads, particularly gravel.

Pirelli has therefore reengineered the tread pattern of the SCORPION Trail III specifically for bicycle use, with a targeted distribution of grooves and solid sections along the profile. Compared to the traditional geometries of more 'racing-style' road tyres, the tread of the CINTURATO EVO TLR features a slick central band designed to provide a solid, rigid footprint for enhanced mileage and cut resistance, while its more sculpted shoulders help the compound deliver greater grip on wet or slippery surfaces. The pattern, rich in grooves and edges, increases traction on surfaces that are not necessarily paved, such as typical gravel terrains

The optimisation of the contact patch and the new construction also contribute to a marked improvement in abrasion resistance, resulting in a +40%**** increase in mileage compared to the original CINTURATO Velo, with the same tread thickness.

The new CINTURATO EVO TLR is already available online and at the best cycling shops, in sizes 28-622, 30-622, 32-622, 35-622, 40-622 in black and, for sizes 28, 30 and 32 also in the Classic and Retro versions. It will also be available later in the season in wider sizes: 45-622, 50-622 and 55-622.

* Only through a physical segregation approach. Depending on the tyre size, the content of bio-based and recycled materials varies between about 25% to 27%, respectively. These latest advancements are part of a long story that started some time ago and is now updated with two new chapters.

Leading the way is Pirelli CyberTM Tyre: Pirelli’s system based on sensors that for the first time enable tyres – the only point of contact between the car and the road – to talk to the vehicle stability control systems, including ABS, ESP, and traction control. The information provided by the sensors is used to offer better performance as well as safety. This technology will be adopted for the first time by the Pagani Utopia.

As well as offering better connectivity, this new era of the tyre will pay greater attention to the environment. Pirelli continues to invest in research and development, introducing new materials that replace those of fossil origin, and providing third-party certification documenting the origin, traceability and use of these materials. A key part of this strategy is the choice to use only natural rubber that has been certified by FSCTM (Forest Stewardship Council) in all of Pirelli’s European factories by 20261. FSCTM forestry management applies rigorous standards that requires biological diversity to be preserved, economically benefitting local workers and communities. A wide selection of top of the range Jaguar Land Rover vehicles will use Pirelli tyres containing FSCTM certified materials, with the JLR group today announcing a supply agreement with Pirelli for these products.

CYBERTM TYRE: TYRES THAT TALK TO THE CAR’S ELECTRONICS

P Zero Corsa, P Zero Trofeo RS and P Zero Winter are the fitments that have been specifically developed for the Pagani Utopia, all equipped with special sensors embedded in the internal part of the tread pattern. These sensors, connected via Bluetooth to the electronic control unit that manages the vehicle’s dynamic systems, supply useful information so that the car can select the optimal driving mode to match the tyres fitted to the car, in order to make the most of their potential. This dialogue between the car and tyres is made possible thanks to software created and implemented by Pirelli, which works directly with the car’s electronic ‘brain’. For example, if the car is on winter tyres, the ABS will be told how to make the most of them to reduce stopping distances. On the other hand, when the car is on semi-slick tyres, the stability and traction control will be informed that there is additional grip available. Without this information, all the systems that govern the car’s dynamics would work in a more conservative way, using assumptions and engine maps that don’t take into account the individual characteristics and performance of the tyres. This insider ‘technical knowledge’ allows the car’s control systems to work much more effectively, enhancing performance as well as safety.

Pirelli CyberTM Tyre is a unique offering on the market, which is already present on some cars currently on sale but now gains this new feature that increases the level of specialization of car electronics, also when it comes to autonomous driving.

ONLY FSCTM-CERTIFIED NATURAL RUBBER IN EUROPE BY 2026

By 2026 all the natural rubber used in Pirelli’s European factories will be FSCTM-certified: a process that has already been started and will gradually roll out to all the factories. FSCTM forestry management certification confirms that plantations are managed in such a way as to preserve biodiversity and deliver benefits to the people who live and work in the area. The certification process for the FSCTM chain of custody demonstrates that the FSCTM-certified material has been purposely segregated and is not contaminated by uncertified material; all the way from the plantation to the tyre maker.

At the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Pirelli announces a collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) to supply tyres using materials of forest origin that are FSCTM-certified across its portfolio of luxury vehicles.

Pirelli created the world’s first roadgoing tyre using FSCTM certified natural rubber and rayon back in 2021. The other significant stops on this journey included the introduction of tyres made with FSCTM-certified rubber in Formula 1 from the first grand prix of 2024, as well as the debut of FSCTM certification in cycling just a few weeks ago with the new Pirelli P Zero Race RS2.

VIRTUALISATION AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE THE KEY TO PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

New tools such as virtualisation and artificial intelligence have accelerated product and technology development, thanks also to Pirelli’s commitment to research and development, with the company investing around 5.5% of the revenue from high value tyre sales each year.

These investments and methodologies have taken Pirelli to the leadership of the EV market thanks to Elect technology, which was designed to complement the characteristics of electrified vehicles (both BEV and PHEV). Pirelli also launched the P Zero E3 in 2023: the first UHP tyre with more than 55% of bio-based and recycled materials across the entire replacement tyre launch range (third party certified to ISO 14021 standard) as well as a triple A rating on the European tyre label and the new Pirelli RunForward puncture-proof technology. This product underlines Pirelli’s commitment to the reduction of fossil-based materials in favour of natural or recycled materials. So that customers can identify products that contain at least 50% materials of natural or recycled origin, Pirelli has designed a specific logo to go on the sidewalls. The latest tyre to carry this bespoke marking is the new P Zero Winter 2 Elect4 that was launched a few weeks ago, featuring more than 50% of these materials – again certified by third parties.

__

__________________________________________________________________________

NOTES

1. This tyre, made in Pirelli’s Milan-Bollate plant, is the first in a future range featuring this certification. It indicates that the natural rubber used comes from plantations managed to preserve biodiversity and benefit the lives of the local communities and workers. FSC® is the most recognized global authority that certifies materials of forest origin. The certification process provides that the material with the FSC® logo is managed separately from the non-certified material throughout the entire supply chain. This is why a dedicated monitoring system had to be introduced in the entry and exit points of all materials used in FSC®-certified products in the Bollate plant. This plant has been completely renovated and converted for the production of bicycle tyres: it is a cutting-edge factory thanks to its highly automated production systems.

FROM PROFESSIONAL RACES TO BICYCLE SHOPS

The World Tour team Lidl-Trek is bringing the P Zero Race TLR RS to the major professional races and grand tours all over the world and the FSC®-certified tyre is now available for sale from global retailers. Pirelli has confirmed its position as world leader for premium and prestige electric car tyres at the IAA Mobility car show in Munich. Of the new cars on display, Pirelli equipped almost 25% of the BEV cars and 30% of the plug-in hybrids. These cars were fitted with products from several different families – from P Zero to Scorpion – but all featured the Elect marking that denotes tyres created specifically for electric cars.

From its launch in 2019 to today, Elect technology has already exceeded 300 homologations: tyres that are specifically adapted to the needs of individual models. Demand for these products has rocketed: compared to the same period last year, new homologations in the first half of 2023 grew at more than double the speed (+125%) of last year, underlining Pirelli's increasing prominence in electric mobility. The only hydrogen car at the IAA Mobility Show, the BMW iX5 Hydrogen, was also equipped with Pirelli tyres. This particular car is fitted with the FSC®-marked P Zero: the only tyre in the world made with natural rubber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council®.

Piero Misani, Pirelli’s Senior Vice President of Research and Development and Cyber, said: “The leadership we have achieved in electric mobility underlines the innovation of our research and development division. Pirelli is the only manufacturer to have transverse technology for electric cars that is still applicable to all our other product lines. This approach allows us greater versatility to offer car manufacturers tailor-made tyres best suited to the specific characteristics of each car. The demand for bespoke BEV and PHEV tyres is growing faster and faster, with the debut of the new P Zero E set to enhance yet more Elect homologation approvals.”

PIRELLI ELECT: TAILORED TECHNOLOGY FOR ELECTRIC CARS

Pirelli Elect is a package of technologies developed to complement the unique characteristics of electric and plug-in hybrid cars. These vehicles have specific needs – with heavy weight and instant torque – that make tyres even more important than usual. The structure and materials used in Elect tyres are able to resist these demands and respond with greater reactivity, making them even more durable. A silent powertrain puts the accent on acoustic comfort, and Pirelli technology allows cabin noise to be reduced by up to 20%1. Battery range is equally important, and this can be extended by tyres with reduced rolling resistance. Tests carried out by Pirelli have shown how mileage can be increased by up to 10% on a full charge2.

PIRELLI P ZERO E: 100% ELECT ULTRA HIGH PERFORMANCE

The new Pirelli P Zero E, a high-performance tyre designed for electric cars, is the latest product to hit the market – with Elect technology standard on all sizes. This is the first tyre made using more than 55% of materials of natural and recycled origin3 (independently verified by Bureau Veritas) and the only UHP (ultra high performance) tyre on the market to have obtained a triple A label score throughout the entire range.

*****

Pirelli Press Office

Tel. +39 02 6442 4270

pressoffice@pirelli.com – www.pirelli.com

* FSC License Code: N003618

1. Thanks to a combination of physical segregation and mass balance approach. Depending on tyre size, bio-based and recycled content ranges between 29-31% and 25-27% respectively. Bio-based materials are natural rubber, textile reinforcements, bio-chemicals, bio-resins and lignin, while recycled materials are metallic reinforcements, chemicals and - through mass balance - synthetic rubber, silica and carbon black.
