The MX2 podium is all Pirelli, in MXGP Pirelli wins with Jeremy Seewer, and Tim Gajser is second.The sixteenth GP of the FIM Motocross World Championship season took place on the 'Al Ciclamino' circuit in Arco di Trento, which is characterised by a medium hard surface. Pirelli-equipped riders were able to take advantage of the excellent performance of the front tyre SCORPION MX32 Mid Soft combined, depending on the rider's choice, with the SCORPION MX32 Mid Soft or the SCORPION MX Soft rear, winning both categories.

From the MX2 category, the world title had already mathematically arrived on October 17, in the Spanish GP, thanks to a provisional general classification that saw nine Pirelli riders in the first nine positions of the championship. The title remained open until the Garda GP for the French rider Maxime Renaux (Yamaha) and the Belgian Jago Geerts (Yamaha), but the second place in race one and the victory in race two sanctioned the triumph of Renaux who celebrated with Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing MX2 team his first world title.

All-Pirelli podium in MX2 with Renaux in first position, Tom Vialle (KTM) second and Ruben Fernandez (Honda) third. Twenty-one year old from Sedane, France, Renaux collected his twelfth podium of the season in Arco di Trento, with five GP wins, five second places and two third places.

In the MXGP class came Jeremy Seewer's (Yamaha) first win of the season, thanks to first place in race one and second place in race two. In second place Tim Gajser (Honda), fourth in race one and winner of race two.

Within the top five riders of the day, at the end of two hard-fought races, a deserved the fourth place of Jeffrey Herlings and the fifth of Antonio Cairoli, both KTM riders. The MXGP championship now sees a close fight between three riders at the top of the general classification, separated by just three points with two GPs to go to the end of the championship: the French Romain Febvre at 614 points, the Slovenian Tim Gajser at 613 and the Dutch Jeffrey Herlings at 611.

Next weekend the MXGP World Motocross circus will move to the “Tazio Nuvolari” circuit in Mantua for the last two GPs of the season, on November 7th and 10th.

On this difficult and demanding track, characterised by a medium hard surface, the riders equipped by Pirelli were able to count on the excellent performance of the front and rear SCORPION MX32 Mid Soft tyres that, combined with medium hard mousse, proved to be successful in every category.

In the MXGP class Jeffrey Herlings hit the overall victory and consolidated his leadership in the championship. Jorge Prado finished second ahead of Tim Gajser. Good placement, fifth, for Antonio Cairoli.

Maxime Renaux won the overall victory in the MX2 class and kept the leadership in the championship. Tom Vialle and Jed Beaton, second and third, completed a podium of the day completely branded Pirelli. Good performances also for Mattia Guadagnini, Rene Hofer, Jago Geerts, Ruben Fernandez and Thibault Benistant who finished in this order from fourth to eighth. With five races ahead of the end of the championship, Pirelli mathematically won the title of the MX2 class, bringing the motocross world championship to 75.

Next weekend the "Al Ciclamino" circuit in Pietramurata will host the Trentino Grand Prix, the fourteenth world championship round of the season and the first of three consecutive races held on the track in Alto Garda.

The Saint Jean d'Angely circuit is formed from hard soil, that due to rainfall that hit the area Saturday night was difficult, slick and scarred with deep ruts. The riders were able to face the conditions thanks to Pirelli tyres.

Jeffrey Herlings celebrated a seventy-five career victory and was the strongest in France. The Dutch rider, equipped by the Pirelli SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft, won both MXGP races. Antonio Cairoli, using SCORPION™ MX Soft, finished in second place despite arriving in Saint Jean d’Angely missing some training due to a knee injury suffered at the British Grand Prix. Herlings now leads the standings with an advantage of 62 points over Cairoli. Tim Gajser completed the overall podium in premier class that was ruled by Pirelli. Romain Febvreperformed well in his home Grand Prix obtaining fifth position overall.

In MX2 victory belonged to Jorge Prado who also managed to reduce his gap in the standings from team-mate Pauls Jonass. The Latvian had to deal with bad luck in France but managed to limit the damage in the points table by finishing fifth overall. Thomas Covington, winner of qualification and the first moto, grabbed second place ahead of teammate Thomas Kjer Olsen; the Dane was third in GP overall and holds the same rank in the championship. The SCORPION™ MX Soft dominated the MX2field confirming the enormous potential of this tire in muddy conditions.

Pirelli achieved excellent results in the sixth round of the EMX250 European Championship with Mathys Boisrame who won the race and jumped to first place in the contest, and remain at the top of the EMX125 European Championship with Rene Hofer.

Next weekend the riders will tackle the Grand Prix of Italy which will be hosted by the Ottobiano sand circuit for the second year in a row.

]]>The second round of the ‘Internazionali d’Italia Motocross’ was hosted by the ‘Gino Meli‘ circuit in Noto, Sicily. The heavy rain that fell on Friday before the race made the track difficult and demanding. SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft rear and front tyres performed impeccably in terms of grip and traction and allowed Pirelli riders to achieve overall victory in all classes.

The mud and slippery ground highlighted the attributes of the Pirelli wares in the MX1 category; a contest that was won by Romain Febvre. The Frenchman managed to surprise Antonio Cairoli in the final laps to cross the finish line in first position. Jeremy Van Horebeek took third place. The nine-times World Champion retaliated by winning the Supercampione – a race in which the first twenty riders in the MX1 and MX divisions take part - ahead of Febvre and Alessandro Lupino in third. Cairoli leads the standings in both MX1 and Supercampione with only one race to close the championship.

Pirelli grabbed victory also in MX2 thanks to the excellent speed of Maxime Renaux who, thanks to this result, jumped to the head of the championship standings. Samuele Bernardini also rode well for third place and Gianluca Facchetti was fourth.

MX2Pirelli also toasted standout results at the Hawkstone Park International in England. Jeffrey Herlings dominated MX1 with Red Bull KTM teammate Glenn Coldenhoff in second and Gautier Paulin third. Pirellialso ruled the podium in MX2 with Pauls Jonass on the top step in front of Thomas Kjer Olsen and Conrad Mewse.

Next Sunday the ‘Tazio Nuvolari‘ circuit in Mantova will host the final round of the 2018 ‘Internazionali d’Italia Motocross’.

Action-packed races were again typical scenes on this awesome Argentinian track with 16 riders from 29 starters in MXGP and 18 from 32 in MX2 equipped by Pirelli. All the riders supported by the Italian brand opted for the excellent SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft front while on the rear they chose the new SCORPION™ MX SOFT; with these tyres Jeffrey Herlings scaled the MXGP podium ahead of Antonio Cairoli with Yamaha riders Jeremy Van Horebeek and Romain Febvrefourth and fifth overall.

It was a fantastic Grand Prix for Jeffrey Herlings. The Dutchman tied with Cairolion points but celebrated victory thanks to his triumph in the second moto. The nine-time World Champion could do little about the charge of his teammate in that second race but confirmed with his speed and competitiveness that he will be again one of the title contenders this year.

MX2 defending champion, Pauls Jonass, was easily the fastest in Argentina. The Latvian won Saturday’s Qualification Heat and both races on Sunday to close the Grand Prix with maximum points. Pirelli ruled the full podium of the MX2 class thanks to Thomas Kjer Olsen in second and Hunter Lawrence in third.

In two weeks time the FIM MXGP World Championship will be back in Europe for the second round of the season which will be hosted by the Valkenswaard’s ‘Eurocircuit' in the Netherlands.
