For the occasion, Pirelli will supply standard range tyres for both classes. In Moto2™, the new 2026 rear soft SC0 will be available, marking its return at Silverstone after a successful debut last year as the E0125 development specification. Featuring a different structure compared with the previous standard SC0, it was immediately appreciated by the riders, who unanimously adopted it from the very first free practice sessions, setting a new all-time lap record. Promoted to a standard range tyre from this season onwards, the SC0 will be paired at the rear with the new medium SC1, previously known as the D0286 development specification, while at the front riders will have the soft SC1 (used by all riders during the 2025 race) and the medium SC2.

· A highly technical and extremely fast circuit. At 5.9 km, Silverstone is the longest track on the World Championship calendar and one of the most technically demanding, thanks to a layout combining long straights, sequences of very high-speed corners and constant changes of direction, together with low-abrasion asphalt featuring limited roughness. It is also a particularly wide track that allows riders to explore different racing lines.

· Consistency in Moto3™. Moto3™ riders will have the soft SC1 and medium SC2 available for both front and rear. Last year, José Antonio Rueda (KTM) claimed victory with a remarkable comeback from last place using medium SC2 tyres at both ends, the combination chosen by the majority of the field, although some riders opted for the soft SC1 both front and rear.

At Silverstone, the SC0 measures Moto2™'s progress

“For this weekend's round at Silverstone, one of the most iconic and technically demanding circuits on the World Championship calendar, Pirelli will once again provide standard range tyres for both classes, featuring the rear soft SC0 compound that made its Moto2™ debut at this very circuit last year as the E0125 development option. The E0125, which complemented the then standard soft tyre, was immediately appreciated by the intermediate class riders, who, on a highly demanding circuit characterised by numerous high-speed corners and changes of direction where stability is essential, focused exclusively on this new solution from Friday onwards.
Introduced again at subsequent events, the former E0125 quickly became the Moto2™ riders' benchmark, offering greater stability, outright one-lap performance and consistent performance across a wide variety of weather and track conditions. As a result, it was promoted to the new standard soft tyre for this season.
More than a year after its debut, and thanks to the significant development work carried out by the teams during this period, the SC0 has already contributed to numerous lap records this season. Weather conditions permitting, it will therefore be interesting to see whether Silverstone can deliver further progress compared with last year's benchmark”.

Moto,Motorsprt,news

After taking home the morning’s short race, the championship leader made a superb start from pole position in Race 2 and went on to claim his 23rd win of the season on a special day for Ducati, which arithmetically secured the Manufacturers’ Championship, after Aruba.it Racing – Ducati had already wrapped up the Teams’ Championship earlier in the day. Bulega finished ahead of Lecuona, who recovered brilliantly from tenth on the grid, while fellow Ducati rider Yari Montella completed the podium. As in Race 1 yesterday, every rider in Race 2 started out on Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike supersoft SCX rear tyres, paired with the SC1 soft front.

· Record-breaking SCX. Bulega won the Superpole Race Bulega ahead of Yari Montella and Sam Lowes’ Ducati bikes. All three opted for Pirelli SCX supersoft rear, on a grid evenly split between SCX (11 riders) and SCQ extrasoft (10 riders) tyres. The choice for the front unanimously settled for the SC1 soft standard tyre. On lap three, Lowes set a new race lap record with 1’25.124, improving Bulega’s yesterday time by three and a half tenths, and the previous record set by Toprak Razgatlıoğlu in 2024 by almost half a second.

· Twenty-four seconds faster. Today’s races saw a significant performance gain compared with 2025’s. Despite the initial ambient temperatures reaching 45°C - eight degrees higher than last year’s Race 2 - the race was almost 24 seconds faster overall, with an average improvement of one second per lap. The Superpole Race was also 6.7 seconds faster than in 2025, with a 0.673 second gain per lap.

· An encore for Booth-Amos and Triumph. It was a standout weekend for Tom Booth-Amos, who followed yesterday’s comeback victory by winning also the WorldSSP Race 2. The Triumph rider converted his pole position into a win, ahead of Albert Arenas (Yamaha) and Jaume Masia (Ducati). Every rider on the grid chose SC1 soft front and SCX supersoft rear tyres. The WorldWCR Race 2 ended on a dramatic note: Maria Herrera crossed the line first – enough to secure the Women’s World Championship title – but received a six-second penalty for causing Paula Ramos to crash on the final lap. And so, the victory went to Beatriz Neila, ahead of Herrera and Roberta Ponziani, with the title fight postponed until the final round at Jerez de la Frontera. In the second race of the Yamaha R3 World Cup, American rider Christopher Clark double up for the weekend.

The new SCX supersoft confirms its strong performance

"The overall outcome at Donington Park is very positive in terms of performance and general tyre behaviour, with new records scored for qualifying, race pace and total race distance. Compared with last year’s event, the new 2026 rear tyres delivered a significant performance improvement, despite the unusually hot temperatures for this region.
While the new extrasoft SCQ tyre once again proved an excellent qualifying performance right from the start, as shown by Bulega’s Superpole lap record, the SCX supersoft allowed the leading WorldSBK riders to maintain a much faster pace than in the past, with very limited performance drop-off on a circuit traditionally characterised by high tyre wear.
Chosen as the reference tyre for long races and by most riders - including all podium finishers - in the Superpole Race, the new SCX took things a step forward, compared with the 2025 version, improving the lap record and overall race times. This was clearly shown by Race 2 lasting a whopping 24-second less, the equivalent of an average gain of one second per lap.
Another aspect worthy of mention is that this tyre is available on the market and may be purchased by all riders.
On an ending note, I would like to congratulate Ducati and the Aruba.it Racing team on securing the Manufacturers’ and Teams’ World Championships”.

Moto,Motorsprt,news

During his attempts to overtake Lecuona, Bulega also set the new fastest race lap of 1'25.491, improving the previous 1'25.597 record established by Toprak Razgatlıoğlu in 2024 by 0.106 seconds.

· Ninth consecutive pole position for Bulega. Earlier in the day, the Superpole once again belonged to Bulega, who claimed his ninth consecutive pole position, setting a new WorldSBK record. As in WorldSBK, although no new race lap record was set, the Supersport race was still 11.249 seconds faster than Race 1 in 2025, corresponding to an average improvement of 0.592 seconds per lap. All 34 riders opted for standard soft SC1 front and supersoft SCX rear tyre combo. Race 1 of the WorldWCR, where all riders competed on Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike SC1 tyres front and rear, was won by Maria Herrera, while American rider Christopher Clark claimed victory in the opening race of the Yamaha R6 World Cup.

Significant performance gains with Pirelli’s new standard rear tyres

"The first two days at Donington were marked by unusually high temperatures for this part of the world, with the track reaching 50°C. Despite the intense heat and a surface that, as is traditionally the case here, offered relatively low grip during the opening sessions, the progressive improvement of the track conditions allowed the riders to achieve outstanding performance levels. As twelve months ago, we once again opted for the softest rear solutions in the range. The major difference for this eighth Round of the FIM Superbike World Championship is the new 2026 standard rear tyres – the SCQ and SCX – now available, which enabled a significant step forward over a single lap and, even more importantly, over race distance.
In Superpole, the extrasoft SCQ rear immediately proved highly effective, allowing Bulega to maintain his unbeaten qualifying record while lowering the all-time lap record by two tenths of a second. Although Donington has historically been one of the most demanding circuits in terms of rear tyre wear, especially on the right-hand side because of its many fast, sweeping corners, it will be interesting to see whether, should temperatures remain this high, any riders choose to tackle the Superpole Race using this specification - the softest tyre in the entire Pirelli range.
The supersoft SCX rear also confirmed its potential from the very first sessions and helped riders lap below the previous 2024 race lap record, already during Free Practice. However, the most significant figure is not the one-tenth improvement in the fastest race lap compared with the old record, but rather the gain over the full race distance. Congratulations to Iker Lecuona on his maiden WorldSBK victory: he completed the 23 laps of Race 1 more than 28 seconds faster than the 2025 winner, corresponding to an average improvement of over 1.2 seconds per lap. These figures clearly demonstrate how our continuous development work is translating into consistent performance gains, both over a single lap and across the full race distance".

Moto,Motorsprt,news
