The MX2 podium is all Pirelli, in MXGP Pirelli wins with Jeremy Seewer, and Tim Gajser is second.The sixteenth GP of the FIM Motocross World Championship season took place on the 'Al Ciclamino' circuit in Arco di Trento, which is characterised by a medium hard surface. Pirelli-equipped riders were able to take advantage of the excellent performance of the front tyre SCORPION MX32 Mid Soft combined, depending on the rider's choice, with the SCORPION MX32 Mid Soft or the SCORPION MX Soft rear, winning both categories.

From the MX2 category, the world title had already mathematically arrived on October 17, in the Spanish GP, thanks to a provisional general classification that saw nine Pirelli riders in the first nine positions of the championship. The title remained open until the Garda GP for the French rider Maxime Renaux (Yamaha) and the Belgian Jago Geerts (Yamaha), but the second place in race one and the victory in race two sanctioned the triumph of Renaux who celebrated with Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing MX2 team his first world title.

All-Pirelli podium in MX2 with Renaux in first position, Tom Vialle (KTM) second and Ruben Fernandez (Honda) third. Twenty-one year old from Sedane, France, Renaux collected his twelfth podium of the season in Arco di Trento, with five GP wins, five second places and two third places.

In the MXGP class came Jeremy Seewer's (Yamaha) first win of the season, thanks to first place in race one and second place in race two. In second place Tim Gajser (Honda), fourth in race one and winner of race two.

Within the top five riders of the day, at the end of two hard-fought races, a deserved the fourth place of Jeffrey Herlings and the fifth of Antonio Cairoli, both KTM riders. The MXGP championship now sees a close fight between three riders at the top of the general classification, separated by just three points with two GPs to go to the end of the championship: the French Romain Febvre at 614 points, the Slovenian Tim Gajser at 613 and the Dutch Jeffrey Herlings at 611.

Next weekend the MXGP World Motocross circus will move to the “Tazio Nuvolari” circuit in Mantua for the last two GPs of the season, on November 7th and 10th.

On this difficult and demanding track, characterised by a medium hard surface, the riders equipped by Pirelli were able to count on the excellent performance of the front and rear SCORPION MX32 Mid Soft tyres that, combined with medium hard mousse, proved to be successful in every category.

In the MXGP class Jeffrey Herlings hit the overall victory and consolidated his leadership in the championship. Jorge Prado finished second ahead of Tim Gajser. Good placement, fifth, for Antonio Cairoli.

Maxime Renaux won the overall victory in the MX2 class and kept the leadership in the championship. Tom Vialle and Jed Beaton, second and third, completed a podium of the day completely branded Pirelli. Good performances also for Mattia Guadagnini, Rene Hofer, Jago Geerts, Ruben Fernandez and Thibault Benistant who finished in this order from fourth to eighth. With five races ahead of the end of the championship, Pirelli mathematically won the title of the MX2 class, bringing the motocross world championship to 75.

Next weekend the "Al Ciclamino" circuit in Pietramurata will host the Trentino Grand Prix, the fourteenth world championship round of the season and the first of three consecutive races held on the track in Alto Garda.

The medium-hard soil of the historic Czech track meant many grip problems for the riders but even in these conditions SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft front and rear tyres proved their effectiveness by dominating race day and allowing Pirelli to monopolize the top five in both classes.

Jeffrey Herlings obtained his eleventh victory in MXGP. The Dutchman won both races and consolidated his lead in the championship standings to bring his advantage over Antonio Cairoli to thirty points. After winning the qualification heat on Saturday, the nine-time world champion took the lead in both races from the start but was forced to surrender to Herlings’s comeback through the first laps. Tim Gajser hovered close behind and finished third overall. There were good results also for Romain Febvre and Jeremy Van Horebeekwho finished fourth and fifth respectively.

There was a change at the top of MX2 class with Jorge Prado winning the Grand Prix and becoming the new leader in championship. In Loket the Spaniard posted the same points as Calvin Vlaanderen but won the overall due to placing in race 2, relegating the South African to second place. An excellent third position was won by Thomas Covington who continued his recent bright run of form. Pauls Jonass finished fourth and, after having held the red plate since the opening round, is now forced to chase Prado. Thomas Kjer Olsenwas fifth overall and keeps third position in championship.

In two weeks time riders will tackle the Grand Prix of Belgium, which, as usual, will be hosted by the challenging sandy circuit of Lommel.

Hot and humid weather and the hard soil of the Asian track that was watered abundantly to avoid dust, created grip problems that Pirelli-equipped riders were able to cope with and tackle thanks to the excellent SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft front and rear tyres that showed their supremacy and unbeatable versatility.

Jeffrey Herlings continued to win MXGP, achieving victory in both races. The Dutchman scored a second consecutive win after the injury that caused him to sit out the Grand Prix in Ottobiano (round eleven), also managed to increase his lead in the championship over Antonio Cairoli. The Italian is now 24 points behind the Dutch rider in the standings and was fourth overall at Semarang after struggling with a left thumb injury sustained in the previous race. Tim Gajserrode brightly to finish in second positioning enjoyed the challenge of the fast and jumpy Indonesian track.

With overall victory obtained in the MX2 class at Semarang, Jorge Prado finally moved up to the top of the championship standings. The young Spaniard finished 2nd in race 1 and won the second outing. Pauls Jonass, second overall (and winner of race 1), crashed while rounding the first corner of the second sprint and fought back from last place. Thanks to an incredible comeback that allowed him to cross the finish line in sixth position, Jonass still leads the championship but is equal on points with Prado and retains the red plate by virtue of the highest number of moto victories (12) so far obtained. Calvin Vlaanderen confirmed the great speed he showed at Pangkal Pinang by finishing third overall. There was a good fifth place for Thomas Covingtondespite a fall in the first race forcing him to a difficult comeback.

The scenic Portuguese track was particularly difficult due to heavy rains falls in the build-up to the event but, thanks to excellent preparation work, it was in pretty good condition for racing. The soil had been ripped to dry faster and the soft terrain meant the majority of Pirelli’s riders relied on the SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft front and the SCORPION MX™ SOFT for the rear and the tyres have proved once again to be the more competitive product in the Pirelli range.

Jeffrey Herlings won both races in the MXGP class – as he did the previous weekend in Italy - and extended his championship lead to 16 points. Antonio Cairoli went 2-2 on the day and was the only rider capable to keep pace with the fast Dutchman. Third place meant a first podium appearance of the season for Tim Gajser who headed Romain Febvre, Glenn Coldenhoff and Jeremy Van Horebeek.

Portugal saw an excellent performance by Jorge Prado who took victory in qualifying and in the two races of the MX2 class. The Spaniard cut the gap in the championship standings to teammate Pauls Jonass to 14 points. The World Champion was fifth overall in Agueda. Thomas Kjer Olsen finished second ahead of surprising Australian Jed Beaton.

Pirelli also won the second round of the EMX250 European Championship thanks to the great double success obtained by Team Red Moto’s rider Mathys Boisrame.In two weeks time MXGP will move to Orlyonok, on the shores of the Black Sea, for the Grand Prix of Russia.

On the hard and slippery soil, Pirelli riders were able to count on the SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft front and rear; the Italian tyres dominated Saturday's qualification and all the races on Sunday.

In the fantastic natural setting of the Trentino mountains, a large gathering of public came to watch the latest challenge between Antonio Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings in MXGP class. On this occasion the Dutchman was the fastest. He won both races and moved to first place in the championship. Cairoli finished third overall despite a small technical problem that slowed him down in the first laps of race 1. There were good results also for Romain Febvre in fourth and Glenn Coldenhoffin fifth.

Jorge Prado won the MX2 overall breaking Pauls Jonass’s hegemony who had dominated the first three grand prix of the season. The Spaniard won the first heat and finished runner-up, behind Thomas Covington, in the second one. It was an excellent performance by the American who classified second overall. Jonass, despite not having the best starts, finished in fifth place and keeps the championship lead with 28 points ahead of Prado.

In just seven days the riders will contest the “Grand Prix of Portugal” at the circuit of Agueda.
