Antonio Calabro' new Director for Institutional Affairs and External Relations

Milan, 9 October 2006 - Antonio Calabrò is the new director for Institutional Affairs and External Relations for the Pirelli Group. Calabrò, 56 years of age, a journalist, arrives from the ApCom news agency which he directed from October 2003.

Calabrò will have reporting to him: Maurizio Abet, head of Media Relations, who will report directly to the Chairman for his specific areas of activity, and Alessandro Signorini, head of International Business Development, which includes the Brussels office.

Calabrò's reports will also functionally include Andrea Bernabei, head of Public and Economic Affairs for Pirelli RE, which includes the head office in Rome.

Antonio Calabrò began his career in journalism at "L'Ora" of Palermo, moving to the weekly "Il Mondo", then to "La Repubblica" and subsequently "Sole 24 Ore", where he was an editorial director. A professor of the history of journalism at Milan's Bocconi University, Calabrò is the author of numerous books, among them "Agnelli, an Italian story" and "Interviews with Italian capitalists".
