Next week end, October 18th and 19th , there will be the World Finals of the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy and the Maserati Trophy, held on the Mugello circuit near Florence. The traditional end-of-season celebrations of national and international championships organized by Ferrari, it will be realized in the two days dedicated to the world of the "Cavallino Rampante", with the participation of Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello, Luca Badoer and Felipe Massa, as well as Jean Todt and the President of the Ferrari Maserati Group Luca Cordero di Montezemolo. Concerning the Maserati Trophy, the championship title has been already won by the Roman driver Alberto Cerrai in the last race at Monza. The statement of the first season is certainly positive: entertainment and great sporting spirit for the gentlemen driver, who emerged with a high level of driving abilities; good technical performances of the car Maserati Trofeo exclusively equipped with the Pirelli P Zero racing tyres, in terms of reliability and in terms of power; moreover, in spite of some particularly hard fought battles, there were in the course of the season no serious incidents for the drivers. For this last appointment of the 2003 calendar it is previewed the extraordinary participation in the race of the French director Luc Besson, partnered with the fellow-countryman Ren Arnoux, driver of the Scuderia Ferrari from 1983 to 1985, already a protagonist of the previous race at Monza. The Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy is confirmed as a championship always closely fought. The situation in the Italian championship has seen in the last race Alessandro Sebasti Scalera (Team Maranello) and Massimiliamo Mugelli (CDP) to win respectively the sprint race and the endurance race on the roman circuit of Vallelunga. The situation in general classification is delicate for the leader: Nicola Cadei (Team Rossocorsa) finds himself at 147 points, with Matteo Malucelli (Motor/Malucelli) at 144 points. Third is Sandro Montani (Team Rossocorsa) at 139 points. At the Magny-Cours circuit, in the European class of the Pirelli Trophy, also in this case the penultimate event of the year, double victory for Jean-Philippe Belloc (Ferrari France) and the 2003 title mathematically conquered one race in advance for Ange Barde (Ferrari France).
