Debutantes at Road Atlanta

Two Pirelli-shod teams made their debut at Road Atlanta (Georgia) in the second round of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) today. Based on their counter parts in the FIA World Rally, the Pirelli Girls made their debut in the ALMS today at Road Atlanta. In fact, in an associated beauty contest, the Pirelli Girls placed first, second, fourth and fifth!

Also debuting at Road Atlanta in the ALMS GT class was the Hyper Sport Panoz Esperante GTLM. Although plagued with drive train problems, the new American entry hopes to be competitive with the dominant Porsches and Ferraris later this season.

In the GTS class, mechanical problems caused the third-place qualifying Olive Garden Ferrari to finish in fifth place, while the PK Sport Porsche finished sixth in GT class after running third most of the race.

Third round of the ALMS is scheduled for July 27 at Sears Point Raceway in northern California.
