Ferrari - Maserati World Finals 2004 at Monza

The World Finals of the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy and the Trofeo Maserati will take place at Monza from October 27-31. The Lombardy circuit, beautifully located in splendid parkland, is the sort of place that has now all but disappeared from the international scene. Despite the numerous modifications made to the track layout over the years, it preserves its myth intact thanks to the legendary high speeds that characterise Monza. The traditional post-season celebration of Ferrari's national and international championships will be two days dedicated to the Prancing Horse with Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello and Luca Badoer on the guest list, in addition to Ferrari director general Jean Todt, Maserati director general Martin Leach and the President of the Ferrari Maserati Group, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo. As well as the final race of the tightly-fought Trofeo Maserati series, Maserati will also demonstrate the star of the 2004 FIA GT season: the Pirelli-equipped Maserati MC12, which made its race debut last month. The new car has been instantly impressive under a wide variety of conditions. After a victory and a second place in Europe, it gained another well-deserved runner-up spot in the searing heat of Dubai. The ultra-competitive Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy incorporates three championships in Italy, Europe and the USA.
