FIA GT 2003 Championship: fourth race in the Czech Republic on the historic Brno Circuit

Milan, May 16th, 2003 - The Brno Circuit is an historic temple of races since 1930, when the first race took place on the old 30 km track that was made up of ordinary roads. The track was shortened over the years, and a new permanent circuit was opened in 1987. The new circuit, 200 km to the south-east of the capital city Prague, is 5,4 km long and it's characterized by uphill and downhill sections and a good variety of fast and slow corners: it's considered by many motorcycles and cars drivers a well appreciated technical track. The fourth round of the FIA GT Championship will take place on Saturday May 24th and Sunday 25th, when the 600 hp of the thirty-six Grand Touring cars will give a big show to the spectators.

The situation of the GT Championship after three races sees BMS Scuderia Italia with the Ferrari 550 Maranello maintain a strong leading position with 46 points, 20 on the second team, Lister Racing. Matteo Bobbi and Thomas Biagi have now 14 points of distance from the rest of drivers: a good position but the championship is still long! Other teams, especially JMB Racing that is trying to find reliability for his powerful engine, are really starving of victory: will be a hard race where will be possible to understand the real forces lined up.

In N-GT category the first team in classification is Maranello Concessionaires and the second one is JMB Racing, separated only by three points. Is it to emphasize the performances constancy of Bertolini and De Simone, firsts in drivers classification, and their Ferrari 360 Modena fitted with Pirelli PZero racing tyres: the drivers and the set represented by car and tyres are giving very good performances.
