The end of season GT races are givingmaximum satisfaction to Pirelli. Also the Viper of Hezemans andKumpen demonstrated a return to winning form with Pirelli tyres, only the very demanding requirements of the Estoril track being toomuch for the older cars brakes and forcing them out of therace.
Fabio Babini and Philipp Peter have finally introduced the newFerrari 575 GTC obtaining the maximum result from the car on itsdebut: power, reliability and grip have supplied a performingpackage at the maximum level. Walter Lechner Jr., running one ofthe Saleens equipped with competitors tyres, declared to the pressthat the new Pirelli rubbers are currently the equipment tohave.
The new Ferrari 575, renewed in all its fundamental parts withrespect to the previous 550, has demonstrated with force that thepotential is enormous. The rhythm enforced by Babini in the laterpart of the race demonstrates it: the times on the last laps wereunattainable also for the formerly-unreachable Ferrari 550 of teamBMS Scuderia Italia. The new 12 cylinders of 600 hp, chassis, brakes, aerodynamics, suspensions and tyres, completely newregarding the previous 550, have made a quantum leap forward.
In N-GT Bertolini and De Simone, after their success in Germany, have underlined the winning phase of team JMB Pirelli: confirmingthe evidence that the Ferrari 360 equipped with the new sequentialgearbox and the new Pirelli P Zero Racing tyres is now asignificant step ahead its adversaries.
