FIA GT 2004: another Ferrari - Pirelli podium

Valencia , April 18 th 2004 - T he race of Valencia is concluded with a podium for Pirelli in N-GT class thanks to the great Ferrari 360 of the GPC Squadra Corse team. The car has confirmed once again its reliability and power, well transmitted to the ground by the last generation of PZero tyres. A great second place conquered, that it confirmed the harmony between drivers Fabrizio De Simone and Christian Pescatori with their Ferrari, Pirelli equipped. For the particular characteristics of the circuit the Saleen Pirelli have well figured during all the week end, even if a problem to the group clutch-gear has forced to the withdrawal the #5 of Alzen, author of the pole position and the race's fastest lap, while the German was leading with two seconds of advantage on the Ferrari 550 Scuderia Italia. The other Saleen #4 of Lechner Jr. has been forced to the withdrawal twenty minutes before the end for the yielding of the axle shaft. Problems of reliability have caused the anticipated withdrawal of the Ferrari 575 of the GPC Squadra Corse team, than on the car of Philipp Peter and Fabio Babini it has seen the yielding of a suspension, while the alternator has stopped that of Emanuele Naspetti and Mike Hezemans . In GT category the Ferraris 550 of the Scuderia Italia team have confirmed their reliability carrying to the success Fabrizio Gollin . Moreover it's to note the good performance of the Lamborghini Murcielago of the Reiter team that has concluded the race in third position. In N-GT class the Porsche Freisinger has still emphasized its optimal reliability and power, than however, also to the Valencia circuit, they are not sufficient to put real pressure the great Ferrari 360 PZero equipped.
