FIA GT 2004: first ever race in Dubai

Next week, October 7 and 8, for the first time the GT championship will run on the newest circuit of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. The climatic conditions will be between the most important aspects of the race, that it is shown like the warmest of all championship: the inside of the cars will really steam the drivers, already stressed by the driving of car with 600hp, the engines will have to be cool more than the usual in order to resist during the three hours of race with approximately 40 C. of atmospheric temperature, and the tyres, that they will have to guarantee the best grip performances without lost too much just because of asphalts temperature. Pirelli is ready to show the last generation of P Zero covers that, by the way, has carried to the victory the Maserati MC12 in the last race of Oschersleben, even if the characteristics of asphalt will be a news for all. In GT class the challenge is renewed between the Maserati, Ferrari and Saleen, and is a true sportily challenge because the 2004 titles already have been assigned to Scuderia Italia team and to its drivers Cappellari and Gollin. Will be an interesting comparison between top teams just because nobody has never run on this track, therefore will be run on equal terms: this race will put highlight on reliability and power of drivers and cars.
