FIA GT 2004: ninth round in Germany

Next week-end, September 18-19, will see the roaring 600 horsepower FIA GT championship cars visit Oschersleben, close to Berlin. The circuit is characterised by successive corners and short straights, making it extremely demanding for the drivers who have not a second to relax. Pirelli Competizioni will bring a new medium-soft compound of P Zero tyre to Germany. The low grip surface of Oschersleben is ideal for this new type of rubber that will offer a considerable increase in traction for all Pirelli's GT class cars: particularly in view of the high temperatures expected over the weekend. After a positive debut at Imola, the Pirelli-equipped Maserati MC12 will be aiming to underline its consistency in terms of speed and reliability. The Konrad-Vitapone Saleen is also expected to perform strongly on home territory, thanks to a car that is perfectly adapted to its P Zero tyres and the Oschersleben circuit. The GPC Squadra Corse Ferrari 575 is looking to underline its superiority over the rival Ferraris: a trend that has been clearly seen over the last three races, thanks also to the team's famous P Zero covers. In the N-GT class the Ferrari 360 of Pescatori and Alexander has no chance of overhauling the Freisinger Porsche, which has already mathematically won the championship. But the Pirelli-equipped Ferrari is looking to once more demonstrate its speed and reliability with a race win in Germany.
