FIA GT 2004: round 6 at Donington Park in England

Donington Park, situated in the English Midlands, is a technical circuit loved by every driver, thanks to its combination of fast corners like the Craner curves, challenging chicanes and the famous Melbourne loop. This notoriously low-grip track is very demanding on tyres and requires a true compromise in terms of car set-up. This makes Donington the ideal arena to showcase the grip and reliability of the new compound Pirelli P Zero slick tyres. After five races, BMS Scuderia Italia's continues to lead the GT class, on 71 points, with its Ferrari 550 Maranello. Follow on the same level in second and third position, with 26 points, the French team JMB Racing and the GPC Squadra Corse team with its Ferrari 575 GTC Pirelli equipped. The Konrad team Saleen S7, which won at Magny Cours in May and the last race at Brno, is currently 51 points behind the championship leaders. The performance of Konrad's Uwe Alzen and Michael Bartels in Brno was very encouraging for this next race in England, given their advantage over the opposition. The Pirelli-equipped GPC Squadra Corse team is currently second in the N-GT class with their Ferrari 360 Modena, 38 points behind the leader Freisinger Motorsport.
