FIA GT 2004: third race at Magny-Cours
Milan, April 21st 2004 - The next race of the FIA GT 2004 Championship will be run on the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit, in France, on April 29/30. The circuit, that also hosts every year the Formula 1 Grand Prix, in the past was known for the low adherence of the track: from last year the works of restructure and modification of the race route have modified the grip of asphalt and rendered still more interesting the races, thanks also to the modification of the last chicane that favours spectacular overtaking in full safety.
On the 4,4 km of the French circuit teams and drivers will give battle in order to try to confirm or to turn out the results obtained during the first two races of the season: the Saleen S7-R Pirelli PZero equipped will have to demonstrate to have caught up the right mechanical reliability, inasmuch as the performances expressed in qualifying and race are at the top level already, while the Ferrari 575 GTC with the Pirelli covers of the new team GPC Squadra Corse would have to introduce some improvements of mechanics and aerodynamics.
Concerning the N-GT category, Pirelli is leader in classification, on the same level with the competition Porsche's drivers, with Fabrizio De Simone, Christian Pescatori and the great Ferrari 360 of the team GPC Squadra Corse. The primary target is to pass first under the chequered flag: it would be the third consecutive time in 2004 that our drivers would find themselves to celebrate on the podium...
