Guys And Dolls - Sebring Style

Southern Florida is preparing for the largest onslaught of sports car fans in U.S. racing history as the 52 nd Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring approaches next Saturday, March 20. Besides the tens of thousands of college students on the annual Spring Break, the Pirelli Teams and Pirelli Girls are getting in condition for the upcoming American Le Mans Season (ALMS) that begins with this classic endurance race on this old WWII bomber training field half way between Orlando and Miami. One of the Pirelli teams expected to challenge the goliath Corvettes in the ALMS is the ACEMCO Motorsports Saleen S7R to be driven by 2001 GTS Champion Terry Borcheller and Johnny Mowlem, fastest at Le Mans in 2001, both in Saleens. Johnny and Terry (see photo) were joined at Sebring testing by two of Pirelli North America's finest, Ashley Smith and Shana Prevette. This year's 12 Hours of Sebring honors a number of racing legends, including Sir Stirling Moss who will celebrate the 50 th anniversary of his victory at Sebring in an OSCA with, of course, Pirelli Cinturato tires. This was, in fact, Pirelli's first victory at the 12 Hours of Sebring. Pirelli will be on pit row covering the 12 Hours of Sebring beginning with qualifying on Thursday, March 18.
