Jordan Rally ideal territory for Pirelli's new scorpion tyres

On the Jordan Rally, the fifth round of the FIA World Rally Championship, Pirelli is offering its teams the Scorpion tyre, which will be used on nearly all the gravel rounds of this year's calendar. For Jordan, the teams will have the hard compound rubber at their disposal.
Making its debut on the World Rally Championship, the Jordan Rally seems to be ideal territory for the Pirelli Scorpion tyre, given that extremely high temperatures have been predicted and the surfaces consist of hard gravel with a layer of rocks and sand.

As Pirelli's Rally Manager Mario Isola points out: "Judging from the forecasts, we will be running in some very warm weather in Jordan, with temperatures ranging from 26 to 35 degrees centigrade. This - along with a hard and rocky surface interspersed with sand - is sure to be one of the elements that will define the rally.
Nonetheless, these are the sorts of conditions that we experienced frequently during the development of the Pirelli Scorpion tyres last year, so I'm feeling confident. Furthermore, we won this rally last year, when it was a round of the FIA Middle East Championship, thanks to Khalid Al Qassimi.  Back then he was driving a Subaru Impreza WRX STi Group N car, but this year he is in the third factory Ford Focus WRC."
