McDONALD'S, Powerade And Team X Collaborate To Launch Pirelli-Shod Saleen Mustang Contest

ROME, Georgia, September 24, 2005 - McDonald's has teamed up with PowerAde, Team X drift team and Saleen to launch the Premium Rides contest being offered to McDonald's customers. Through the promotion, customers have the opportunity to win a Saleen S281 Mustang with 20-inch Pirelli tires. Professional model and Team X driver Tyson Beckford launched the event along with team mate Tony Brakohiapa at the unveiling of the Pirelli-Saleen Mustangs at the McDonalds restaurant on 34th Street in New York earlier in the month. The competition is being held at participating McDonald's restaurants in the Tri-State Area of New York, New Jersey and  Connecticut and runs through Oct. 2. Customers who purchase a newMcDonald's Premium Chicken Sandwich or a 32oz Coca-Cola product with a "crack n' peel" instant win sticker affixed to it can participate in the Premium Rides sweepstakes and have the chance to win one of three Pirelli-shod Saleen Mustangs. The use of the Pirelli-shod Saleen S281 cars in the McDonalds Premium Rides promotion was coordinated by Dele Atanda, team manager of Team X drifting team. Team X is a pioneering 'drift' racing team established this year with the support of Pirelli, Saleen and McDonalds as a means of generating an integrated awareness for the team and its supporters. The winners of the cars will be identified early in October and Steve Saleen will be on hand to present them their keys.
