PIRELLI AND ROSNEFT EXPAND COMMERCIAL PARTNERSHIP

Pirelli and Rosneft today signed a cooperation agreement that extends their already existing commercial and marketing partnership. The document was signed by the Chairman of the Managing Board of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, and by the Chairman and CEO of Pirelli, Marco Tronchetti Provera, during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The agreement calls for the development of new Pirelli sales’ points in Rosneft service stations, the continuation of the implementation of the project to create a concept Pirelli flagship tyre centre and the launch of joint analysis of the possibility of opening mobile tyre-changing stations for seasonal use within Rosneft service stations, as well as research into the potential joint branding of driving schools. The agreement will allow Rosneft to extend the portfolio of products offered at its service stations and enable Pirelli to strengthen its commercial presence in a strategic area such as Russia, where the Italian company has industrial operations through factories in Voronezh and Kirov. By the end of 2015, Pirelli and Rosneft plan to open up to 15 points of sale in the Moscow area, while overall it foresees reaching at least 200 points of sale by 2019. The launch of the strategic marketing and commercial agreements between Pirelli and Rosneft was in December 2012, and in December 2013 the two partners opened their first point of sale inside Rosneft’s Olympic space in Sochi. In May 2014 the two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the opening of new points of sale through the network of Rosneft service stations and for cooperation in the production of synthetic rubber.
