Pirelli as original equipment on the new Porsche Machan

Pirelli confirms itself as one of the leading suppliers of original equipment tyres for the most important car manufacturers, especially in the premium and prestige segments. In the first quarter of 2015 alone, the Italian tyre company has already achieved more than 50 new homologations, including Mercedes GLE Coupé equipped with P Zero, Scorpion Verde, Scorpion Verde All Season and Scorpion Winter; AUDI Q7 equipped with Scorpion Winter; BMW X5M and X6M equipped with P Zero and Scorpion Winter; Volvo XC90 equipped with Scorpion Verde and Scorpion Verde All Season; Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte equipped with P Zero All Season only for the NAFTA market; Land Rover Range Rover Sport equipped with P Zero with PNCS Technology. Last but not least, Pirelli has designed two tailored-made tyres for the Porsche Macan which were chosen as original equipment by the car manufacturer: the P Zero, Pirelli’s high performance tyre, and the Scorpion Verde All Season, created for the North American market and suitable for long distances. Porsche’s compact SUV sport car can now rely on Pirelli’s renowned technology delivering excellent performance in all weather and road conditions. Michael Wendt, Pirelli Germany Technical Department director, said: “These versions of the P Zero and the Scorpion Verde All Season are tailor-made products, designed to meet the characteristics, driving dynamics and electronic features of the latest Porsche Macan.  In order to distinguish them, the tyres are marked with a distinctive ‘N0’ marking on the sidewall, which identifies tyres that have been specifically created for Porsche”. Pirelli tyres (P Zero, Scorpion Verde All Season as well as Scorpion Verde, Scorpion Winter and Winter Ice for the Nordics) obtained over 180 homologations overall for the sports cars of the German manufacturer, including the Panamera, the 911, the Boxster, the Cayman, the Cayenne and the Macan.
