PIRELLI: P ZERO AS ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON BMW X5 AND X6

THE NEW ULTRA HIGH PERFORMANCE TYRES DEVELOPED JOINTLY

BY PIRELLI AND BMW WILL BE DISTINGUISHED BY A STAR

Pirelli’s well-established technical partnership with BMW has been highlighted the latest important homologation: the German manufacturer has chosen the 21-inch P Zero as original equipment on its most powerful SUVs, the X5 and X6 (E70). This latest fitment lines up alongside the other Pirelli tyres that equip BMW models such as the 1 Series, 3 Series, 3 Series GT, 5 Series, 6 Series Gran Coupé and 7 Series, as well as the current X1 and X3 SUV models. The 21-inch run-flat P Zero has been developed to cope with the high performance demands generated by the latest generation SUVs. Thanks to its asymmetric design, this tyre guarantees the X5 and X6 perfect roadholding combined with a reduction in rolling resistance, while maintaining high levels of wet grip. The specialised tread pattern design ensures an even level of wear, enhancing the well-known driveability of the P Zero. The P Zero is homologated for the BMW X5 and X6 in these sizes: 2306200 285/35R21 105Y XL rf P ZERO (*) front 2306300 325/30R21 108Y XL rf P ZERO (*) rear The numerous performance benefits of the P Zero make it one of the preferred original equipment options for the world’s most prestigious manufacturers, with more than 250 homologations to date. The new tyres developed jointly by Pirelli and BMW will be distinguished by a special star marking on the sidewall: this branding indicates that the tyres have been tailor-made to respond to the specific needs of each manufacturer. These markings will also be seen on Pirelli’s winter tyres. With the Sottozero Serie II and Scorpion Ice & Snow, Pirelli now supplies more than 30 fitments distinguished by the new star marking.
