PIRELLI P ZERO TYRES OVERCOME THE HEAT AND BANKING OF ZANDVOORT

Audi became the fourth brand to win out of four races so far in the Pirelli-equipped DTM, as the championship visited Zandvoort in Holland for round two.

With its steep banked corners and twisty rollercoaster layout, the tyres are worked hard at the home of the Dutch Grand Prix – and today conditions were even more challenging thanks to asphalt temperatures that peaked at 46 degrees centigrade.

Nonetheless the Pirelli P Zero DHF tyres performed perfectly throughout the pair of races that make up every DTM weekend, contributing to some spectacular action with plenty of overtaking. Also on the menu were support races that included the GT4 category as well as the F1 Academy (a single-seater series  for up-and-coming young women) additionally equipped by Pirelli.

Pirelli’s circuit activity manager Matteo Braga said: “The versatility of our P Zero DHF tyres, which are designed to equip cars in both the GT3 and GT4 classes, was underlined once more today by four brands now winning in four races throughout the DTM season so far. Despite track conditions that were considerably warmer today than yesterday, the tyres performed equally well over a wide working range, playing an integral part in all the battles that are a consistent hallmark of this closely-fought and prestigious championship.”
