Pirelli P7 Classic: Hat-trick of European titles on Elba

Drivers competing with Pirelli P7 Classic tyres claimed three European titles as well as an Italian national title at the Rally Elba Historic.
Ex-Formula 1 driver Eric Comas and co-driver Yannick Roche won the rally and with it the European title in the top Category 4 in their Lancia Stratos.
Luigi ‘Lucky’ Battistolli in a Lancia Delta Integrale 16V with Fabrizia Pons alongside enjoyed a fantastic duel with Comas and finished just four and a half seconds behind in second. Lucio Da Zanche (Porsche 911) made it a podium sweep for the Pirelli P7 Classic.
With this result ‘Lucky’ is not only guaranteed the European title in Category 3 but also, with one rally still to go, the corresponding Italian Championship title and the overall national crown. To complete the success for cars equipped by Pirelli, the Austrian Karl Wagner (Porsche 911) with his result on Elba has won the European title in Category 2.
