PIRELLI READY FOR THE GRAND FINALE
AT THE 2006 RALLY OF GREAT BRITAIN

Higgins (Ford Focus WRC) on P Zeros as well as the factory Subaru WRC06s
The demanding Welsh route will also see the Subaru Group N of Anton Alen

Milan, 27 November 2006 - For the first time in no fewer than 20 years, the World Rally Championship will end in the month of December with the event that habitually closes the season. The Rally of Great Britain, which will start from Cardiff on 1st December, has been the last in the championship for many years and, after briefly being held during the summer in 2004/2005, is firmly back in its regular late autumn slot.

As well as the two factory Subaru Impreza WRCs of Petter Solberg and Chris Atkinson, British rally champion Mark Higgins will also be on P Zero. During the 2006 season, Higgins has driven Pirelli Competizioni's reconnaissance car, together with Carlo Cassina, Valentino Rossi's regular co-driver. Higgins, who knows the British rally's route well, said, "I am delighted to have the opportunity of doing my home event in a competitive car like the Ford Focus WRC on Pirelli P Zero tyres, even though it will be over a route made treacherous by extremely low temperatures and surfaces that are icy or very muddy".

Said Mario Isola, Rally Manager of Pirelli Competizioni, "The more than 1,200 kilometres of the rally in Wales means Pirelli will offer its P Zero tyres with its KP tread pattern and an extremely soft compound, developed specifically for the special nature of this last annual event".

Pirelli Competizioni will also service a number of talented competitors in Group N, as well as the WRC Subarus of Solberg and Atkinson and Higgins' Ford. Among them are three Subaru Impreza STis being driven by Patrik Flodin, Oscar Svedlund and Anton Alen, son of the great Markku and already the winner of the category three months ago in Finland
