Pirelli Shocked And Saddened By Park's Death

Cardiff (GB), 18 September 2005 - Pirelli shares the profound sadness of Peugeot Sport, Markko Martin, and Michael Park's family following the death of Michael in an accident on SS15 of the Wales Rally Great Britain, round 12 of the World Rally Championship. The Peugeot he shared with Markko Martin was in sixth place at the time of the accident, which took place on the last day of the all-gravel event. The rally was then stopped, and the competitors returned to Cardiff for the finish. Pirelli's rally manager, Fiorenzo Brivio, said: "We are shocked and saddened by the tragic events of SS15. Michael was a brilliant co-driver and a popular personality. On behalf of everybody at Pirelli, I would like to express our deepest condolences to Michael's family, and everybody who knew and worked with him."
