Pirelli-Shod Essex Racing scores Third Podium in Four Races
Elkhart Lake, Wis. - For the third time in the last four races, the Atlanta-based Essex Racing team drove their Lola B2K/40/Nissan to an American Le Mans Series (ALMS) podium finishing in second place at the Road America 500 today.
Team regular Jason Workman was joined by Team Manager Mike Gues son, James Gue.
After podiuming three times in 2002, Emanuele Naspetti and Mimmo Schiattarella drove the Olive Garden Ferrari 550 Maranello to a second-straight fourth-place finish in GTS after earning their first podium of the year at Trois-Rivieres.
Seventh round of the ALMS is scheduled for Sunday, September 7, at the Monterey Sports Car Championships at Laguna Seca in Northern California. NBC-TV will televise the 2-hour, 45-minute race beginning at 4 p.m. (EDT); Eurosport will provide same-day coverage in Europe.
