Pirelli triumphs in Assen for the FIM Motocross of Nations

The historic TT Circuit of Assen hosted the 73rd edition of the FIM Motocross of Nations, the most important event for national teams that closes the international racing season. The track, built over the final section of the famous asphalt circuit, involves a sandy terrain that became particularly heavy due to strong thunderstorms that hit the area throughout the weekend. The SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft front tyre paired with the SCORPION™ MX Soft rear allowed Pirelli-equipped riders to face these difficult and demanding conditions in the best possible shape and permitted victories and excellent positions in each category.

Jeffrey Herlings and Calvin Vlaanderen led the Dutch team to a first historic lift of the prestigious Chamberlain Trophy. There was a great second place for the Belgian team captained by Jeremy Van Horebeek while Adam Sterry and Nathan Watson brought Great Britain to the third step of the podium.

There were excellent results for Pirelli also in the individual class rankings with Tim Gajser winning MXGP ahead of Jeffrey HerlingsJeremy Seewer, rookie Jorge Prado and Jeremy Van HorebeekThomas Kjer Olsen claimed the MX2 class in front of Vlaanderen, while Harri Kullas was fourth overall in the OPEN class allowing the Estonian team to take fourth place in the Nations ranking.

The Motocross of Nations ended a memorable season for Pirelli in which the Italian brand ruled every category once more and brought the number of titles won in the FIM Motocross World Championship up to an unparalleled seventy-two.
