Pirelli Venezuela celebrates its 25th anniversary year

Pirelli Venezuela celebrates its 25th anniversary year. On October 10, 1990, Pirelli arrived in the country, specifically in Guacara, Carabobo state. Established with the purpose of producing tyres for the domestic market, during the 25 years the Guacara factory has become a solid and efficient production unit for car, van and truck tyres. "In Venezuela, we produced the first 16” tyre with a V speed rating (capable of travelling up to 240 kph). 20 years ago we became the first plant in the Andean Pact, which launched the Spectrum line, evolved into the new family of Pirelli Super Sport P5000 with a low profile design. We were the pioneers in making the 17” rim for truck products. Pirelli is the only manufacturer in the Venezuelan market to produce motorcycle tires. We also have the Scorpion line preferred by van drivers and 4×4 vehicle owners, being the only country with national distribution of the 18” tyres for cars assembled in Venezuela. Our tyres have been confirmed as the best by assemblers and customers, as well as being recognised with major awards both nationally and internationally" said Mauricio Canineo, CEO of Pirelli Venezuela. Pirelli has received important quality certifications, such as: the ISO 14001 Environment and Conservation; ISO 9001; the World Excellence Award, awarded by the Ford Motor Company for its most prominent suppliers; and confirmation for four consecutive years (2007-2010) as a world leader in the Autoparts and Tyres sector of the Dow Jones Sustainability Europe and Dow Jones Sustainability World. These awards are a guarantee of excellence in its processes and products. In the area of social responsibility, Pirelli has expressed concern for the environment. It has undertaken special activities in the framework of World Beaches Day and environmental programmes, among which is the promotion for reusing tyres to control contaminants in the Bonanza landfill.
