PIRELLI WINS ALL IN THE MOTOCROSS GRAND PRIX OF THE NETHERLANDS IN VALKENSWAARD

Second victory in a row for Jeffrey Herlings in MXGP, Tom Vialle wins MX2 and takes the lead in the championship

Rain and winter temperatures framed the Grand Prix of The Netherlands, the second round of 2020 FIM Motocross World Championship, which was held at the Valkenswaard circuit. The sandy soil was soaked from heavy rains and the Dutch track turned into a litany of holes and deep ruts. Pirelli riders were able to cope with the conditions thanks to the SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft front, the SCORPION™ MX™ Soft rear and related mousses.

Jeffrey Herlings and Tim Gajser finished the MXGP motos on equal points but overall victory went to the Dutchman due to this victory in the second moto. Fourth position belonged to Antonio Cairoli ahead of Jeremy Van Horebeek in fifth. Pirelli occupy the top three positions in the championship standings with HerlingsGajser and Cairoli.

Tom Vialle earned a second career Grand Prix win in the MX2 class which, thanks to today's result, pushes the Frenchman to the top of the championship standings. Countryman Maxime Renaux finished second in front of Jago Geerts, winner of the qualifying heat and first moto but who was forced into a difficult comeback in the second due to a fall exiting the first corner. There were good performances also by Jed Beaton in fourth and Ben Watson, fifth.

Pirelli also grabbed overall victory in the first round of the EMX250 European Championship with Denmark's Bastian Boegh Damm taking the top step and filled the top five with Isak Gifting second, Andrea Adamo third, Thierry Benistant fourth and Lion Florian fifth.

In the second round of the FIM WMX Women's World Championship, Nancy Van de Ven finished third and occupies fourth position in the standings.

In two weeks time the FIM Motocross World Championship will move to South America for round three and the Grand Prix of Patagonia Argentina, which will be hosted by the scenic Neuquen circuit.
