Rosneft and Pirelli sign cooperation agreement

Rosneft and Pirelli & C. S.p.A. signed an agreement to develop cooperation in trade and marketing. The agreement was signed by Igor Sechin, President and Chairman of the Management Board at Rosneft, and Marco Tronchetti Provera, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pirelli & C. S.p.A. The two companies plan to run joint marketing projects and sell products made by Pirelli, a global tyre manufacturer, at Rosneft’s chain of filling stations, which is one of the most extensive in Russia. The heads of both companies underlined that the cooperation and business partnership between Rosneft and Pirelli & C. S.p.A is built on the basis of sharing experience and potential for mutual benefit. A joint working group will soon be set up to discuss, among other issues, the following: identifying the priority sales market, developing a preliminary product mix and efficient supply logistics, creating a set of joint marketing campaigns to promote Rosneft and Pirelli products and brands. Russia’s Krasnodar region will be a focus for joint activities. The region is soon to play host to the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games, of which Rosneft is a general partner. Both companies believe that the planned joint marketing activities by Rosneft and Pirelli, two leading international companies, will provide strong support in preparations for the biggest global sporting event of 2014. Rosneft is a Russian oil industry leader and one of the largest public oil and gas companies in the world. Rosneft’s corporate structure comprises over 530 subsidiaries, including 17 production units, seven major processing plants and four sea shipping terminals, as well as about 1,700 filling stations across Russia.
