SCORPION MX™, Pirelli’s lethal weapon at the Grand Prix of Europe of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Valkenswaard

After a long time Gautier Paulin returns to victory in the MXGP but Tim Gajser keep sin the lead in the Championship; Pauls Jonass dominates MX2 class and consolidates his leadership

A week after the spectacular race in Arco di Trento, riders of the FIM Motocross World Championship were involved in the Grand Prix of Europe at Valkenswaard. With its sandy soil which during the races becomes hard on the bottom, the Dutch track is one of the most demanding of the championship but Pirelli's riders were able to rely on the excellent SCORPION™ MX SOFT rear that, with the SCORPION™ MX32 ™ MID SOFT front, allowed the Italian brand to win in all categories and to monopolize the podium in MXGP.

Pirelli dominated the MXGP class by placing his riders in the top ten positions of the day. Thanks to a first and a second position, the victory belongs to Gautier Paulin. Fantastic second place for Jeffrey Herlings who has finally left behind the injury to his hand that slowed him down in the first races of the season. Jeremy Van Horebeek finished third in front of Antonio Cairoli, winner of qualifying and race 2 but unlucky in the race 1, and Tim Gajser. The slovenian kept the Red Table in the championship standing with 14 points advantage over the eight times world champion.

Pauls Jonass has won both MX2 races and has lengthened in the championship leading to 19 advantage points on Jeremy Seewer, second in Valkenswaard. Good race also for Thomas Kjer Olsen who, despite a fall in race 1, managed to close the Grand Prix to fourth place. Bad luck for Julien Lieberthat, after the second position in the first run, was forced to retire in the second but kept the third place in the championship.

Pirelli successes also in the European rounds that competed in Valkenswaard together with the world championship. Mikkel Haarup in EMX125 and Miro Shivonen in EMX250 have won the races and are in the lead in their championships. In two weeks time, riders will be engaged in the seventh round of the FIM Motocross World Championship, the Grand Prix of Latvia, which will be held on the track of Kegums.
