Sixth place for Cadillac at the Sebring 12 hours race

Milan, 20 March, 2000 - The Audi R8s won by far the Sebring 12 Hours race, 1st event counting for the American LeMans 2000 series and also second US 'classic' event after the Daytona 24 Hours race of last February.

Audis' extra-competitiveness was clear since the start. Audis are real F.1 -with bodywork- and fitted with the maximum level of technology available in motor-racing. The scored 1st and 2nd final position, thanks respectively to Pirro/Biela/Kristensen and Alboreto/Capello/McNish teams. 3rd place for the BMW V12 driven by Lehto/Muller. This can be considered for Audi an exceptional result, considering how - just one year ago - these cars were promising but still some 5 seconds per lap slower than fastest cars on track.

Sixth place for the Pirelli-fitted Cadillac NorthStar driven by Taylor/Angelelli/Van de Poele. The US sportscar was at its 2nd race ever, and a few techical problems proved how it still needs circuit experience. But the Sebring week-end can be considered extremely positive for the tyres of the Pirelli PZero circuit range, always very well performing and long lasting in every practice and race conditions.

The technical potential of the Cadillac NorthStar project is very big, and now the testing and developing work will be oriented to the LeMans 24 Hours race of next June.
