The P Zero™ selected for the next four FORMULA 1 circuits

Pirelli has announced the tyre nominations for the upcoming GRAND PRIX in Austria, Great Britain, Germany and Hungary. The Red Bull Ring in Austria, which is new to the FORMULA 1 calendar, is characterised by a low tarmac-roughness and contains several tight and twisty sections, which require the tyres to grant the maximum mechanical grip even at low speeds. At this circuit Pirelli will, therefore, bring the two softest compounds: the P Zero™ Giallo soft and the P Zero™ Rosso supersoft. Silverstone presents an opposite picture to that of Austria. It is one of the fastest circuits of the season with high mechanical stress on the tyres. For this reason, the choice falls to the two hardest compounds available: the P Zero™ Arancio hard and the P Zero™ Bianco medium. This year the GRAND PRIX of Germany returns to Hockenheim, a circuit which combines fast straights with the slow, rhythmic section of Motodrom. To ensure the best overall performance, in a situation which generally puts moderate stress on the tyres, the choice will once again favour the soft and supersoft compounds, namely the P Zero™ Giallo soft and the P Zero™ Rosso supersoft. Finally, the Hungaroring is another relatively fast circuit, where the possible hot conditions will be a stern test for the tyres. The choice of the P Zero™ Bianco medium and the P Zero™ Giallo soft aims, therefore, at ensuring the best performance in a wide working range, increasing the chances of different strategies.
