The Pirelli-Ferrari duo win at the 2007 "1000 KM of Monza"

THE PIRELLI-FERRARI DUO WIN
AT THE 2007 "1000 KM OF MONZA"

Two 430 GTCs on PZero Racings take the first two places in the GT2 class of the Monza marathon, first round in the Le Mans Series. Four out of the first five cars on the Milan manufacturer's tyres.

Monza, 15 April 2007 - With the success of the Ferrari 430 GTCs of Team GPC Sport driven by De Simone-Bonetti-Hernandez and the second place of a similar car entered by Villorba Corse for Zardo-Caffi, Pirelli Competizioni has begun the 2007 season of the Le Mans Series in the best possible way. In more than five hours of racing, the PZero Racing-fitted Ferraris were almost always in the leading positions and no fewer than four out of the first five finishers were on Pirelli tyres.

This victory rewards the optimum work carried out by Pirelli together with GPC Corse, which saw the other 430 GTC on Pirelli PZero Racing tyres take fifth place, driven by Drudi-Mowlem-Rosa, preceded by the always brilliant Panoz Esperante GTLM-Pirelli of Team LNT, campaigned by Kimber Smith-Watts.

Pirelli Competizioni director, Paul Hembery, said, "A chieving such a sensational success in that which is the first great endurance race of the 2007 Le Mans Series is further proof of the high degree of competitiveness of the new, soft compound PZero Racings, which dominated the scene at the top with clear superiority. Winning again with Ferrari and setting the fastest lap with Porsche also confirm the ability of Pirelli to offer products especially developed for cars which are so very different from each other. It is also a result which is a good omen in a year that looks like it is going to be highly demanding, given the large number of competitive entrants in the GT2 class - the most substantial of the entire championship".
