At the Catalonia GP, Pirelli is looking for confirmation from the new soft rear tyre

· After hosting two GPs in 2024, (May and mid-November as the last of the season to replace Valencia), this year the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit hosts the Grand Prix of Catalonia at the beginning of September. For this event, the fifteenth round of the World Championship, Pirelli has decided to make available to the Moto2™ and Moto3™ riders the same tyre allocation already chosen for the Hungarian GP. 
 
· In Moto2™, the riders will find two rear solutions in soft compound, namely the standard SC0 and the E0125 development specification. This second option has already been present in allocation five times after its debut at Silverstone this year. So far it has always won the direct comparison with the standard SC0, becoming the elected choice for all the riders in each race, as also happened in the last GP held at Balaton Park. As always, the rear options can be combined with two alternatives for the front, the soft SC1 and the medium SC2, both standard. 
 
· Soft SC1 and medium SC2 are also the solutions for both axles for the Moto3™ class, in quantities of 8 tyres of each compound for each rider. In both GPs held at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit in 2024, the medium SC2 was the most used compound by the riders in the race itself.

In Barcelona we continue the comparison between the soft rears
 
"Last year was our debut season in Moto2™ and Moto3™ and in Barcelona we raced on two occasions, first at the end of May and then in mid-November. In both cases, despite almost 30 degrees of difference in track temperature, the Moto2™ riders used soft compound rear tyres: in May the standard SC0 and in November the D0640 specification which would later become the new standard SC0. This year we will be able to compare the standard SC0, formerly D0640, with the new E0125 specification which until now, in all the GPs in which it has been taken, has always been more appreciated. The temperatures will be more similar to what we recorded in May last season and it will be interesting to see how the new specification behaves at this circuit as well after the data collected at other tracks. As for Moto3™, we have seen that on this track the option in the medium SC2 compound has so far been the most used for both axles but this year the riders have a greater knowledge of our tyres, therefore, it cannot be ruled out that someone may opt for the soft SC1 at the rear which in recent GPs has been chosen by several riders for the race".
