DIABLO ROSSO™ IV named ‘best sports tyre’ by German magazine ’MOTORRAD’
Pirelli DIABLO ROSSO™ IV convinced the testers with its performance on track and on road, in the wet test and through a 2,000 kilometre test
Pirelli DIABLO ROSSO™ IV was confirmed as the best supersport tyre on the market by the German magazine MOTORRAD, which promoted a comparative test of the best six supersport tyres currently available on the market.
MOTORRAD tests are considered a benchmark in the tyre and motorcycle sector, because they are carried out not only on closed circuits in dry conditions, but also on roads with different asphalt conditions and reaching over 2,000 kilometers of wear.
Specifically, the supersports tyre comparison was published in MOTORRAD issue 6/2022 currently on newsstands. The editors of the German magazine compared the tyres of six different brands available on the market in the sizes 120/70 ZR 17 front and 190/55 ZR 17 rear. The performance of the tyres was evaluated in the "Country Road", "Race Track", "Wet" and "Mileage" categories. Pirelli DIABLO ROSSO™ IV showed no weaknesses in any category and obtained a score of 361 out of 400 possible points, with a victory in the test and an overall rating of "VERY GOOD".
The conclusion of the testers: “With DIABLO ROSSO™ IV, Pirelli sweeps away all the worries of a tyre designed for supersport use, such as rainy days or marathon rides. The sum of all these good qualities makes it the winner of the test". Particularly noteworthy on closer examination of the results: DIABLO ROSSO™ IV on the track establishes itself as the "benchmark of stability and grip", achieves the best lap time and the definition of "BEST PURCHASE" in this category. Despite this level of grip, after passing 2,000 kilometers of testing, DIABLO ROSSO™ IV recorded a minimum wear level and consequently obtained the classification of "BEST PURCHASE" also in the mileage category.
