F1 Academy - Barcelona

The third round of the F1 Academy season – which features Pirelli as official tyre partner and supplier – took place at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit in Spain, with MP Motorsport winning two of the three races. Emely De Heus won Race 1 at Montmeló ahead of Abbi Pulling (Rodin Carlin) and Marta Garcia (Prema Racing). Amna Al Qubaisi put MP back on the top step of the podium in Race 2, with Garcia and Pulling finishing second and third respectively. Only one of the Prema cars finished the race, after Bianca Bustamante and Chloe Chong collided on the final lap. Race 3 finished in grid order, with Lena Buhler (ART Grand Prix) maintaining first, ahead of MP Motorsport’s Hamda Al Qubaisi (who retired from Race 1 with a technical problem) and Garcia. The Spaniard now leads the championship with 135 points, ahead of Hamda Al Qubaisi (94 points) and Buhler (on 83 points). The series now moves to Zandvoort in Holland for the next round during the weekend of 23-25 June.
