GOLDEN POWER DECREE ADOPTED TO PROTECT THE ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT BY PIRELLI-ABET HTS IN THE DEFENCE SECTOR
TECHNO-ORGANIZATIONAL MEASURES TO PROTECT Assets OF STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE FOR THE NATIONAL DEFENCE AND SECURITY SYSTEM
Pirelli AND ABET HTS RECEIVE pm OFFICE’S DECISION FAVOURABLY
Milan, 29 September 2026 – With regard to the Golden Power Procedure launched by the Prime Minister’s Office following notification by Pirelli & C. S.p.A. (“Pirelli”), together with ABET High Tech Solutions S.r.l. (“ABET HTS”), it should be noted that on 28 September 2026 the two companies received communication of a provision approved on 24 September 2026 with which the Cabinet exercised its special powers (the “Prime Ministerial Decree”).
It should be noted that the object of the notification was also the agreement, announced on 5 August 2026, of the joint development of technology aimed at the creation of remote-controlled electric terrestrial vehicles to serve as rescue vehicles in environments and on surfaces that are particularly arduous and extreme (the “Co-development Agreememt”).
The Prime Ministerial Decree viewed as being of strategic importance for the defence system, in accordance with article 1 of Legislative Decree 2012, no. 21, the activity carried out in the defence sector by Pirelli and by ABET HTS, as well as the Co-development Agreement.
Applying criteria of maximum precaution and for the protection of interests that are fundamental to national defence and safety, the Prime Ministerial Decree set measures of a techno-organizational nature regarding Pirelli and ABET HTS, aimed at protecting the industrial property rights, know-how, products and relative data of strategic importance for the system of national defence and safety and to guarantee the continuity and standard of the Research & Development activities of Pirelli and ABET HTS for all the activities caried out, and which will be carried out, in this sector.
Pirelli and ABET HTS received the decision adopted by the Prime Minister’s Office favourably.
