PIRELLI: A BESPOKE P ZERO TO ENHANCE THE PERFORMANCE OF THE BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET
Developed in close collaboration with BRABUS, the bespoke 22-inch tyre is engineered to effectively transfer the V12’s power and torque to the road, supporting speeds of up to 360 km/h
Milan, 28 September 2026 – Pirelli is the exclusive supplier of 22-inch tyres for the new BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET. For this model, Pirelli has developed a bespoke P Zero, which is also available for the Coupé version. The tyre has been designed to provide the Gran Turismo with grip, even at the high speeds of which this convertible is capable, while also delivering the comfort and precision required by the German luxury brand.
Joint development
For the development of the bespoke tyres for the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET – the open-top counterpart to the brand’s high-performance Gran Turismo Coupé, dedicated to company founder Bodo Buschmann – BRABUS chose to work with Pirelli. Throughout the development process, Pirelli engineers worked closely with BRABUS to tailor the tyres to the supercar’s specific technical characteristics, including its chassis set-up, wheel dimensions and the performance of the V12 engine, which enables the exclusive 2+2-seater to reach speeds of up to 360 km/h. Particular attention was paid to optimising the tyre’s construction, tread pattern and compound, with the aim of achieving the right balance between high-speed performance, steering precision, stability and comfort. This approach reflects BRABUS’ commitment to every detail of the vehicle, as highlighted by Joern Gander, CTO of BRABUS: “The successful development of this 22-inch tyre combination, created together with Pirelli, underlines our ambition to perfectly harmonise maximum performance, precision and driving dynamics with the BRABUS BODO, right down to the smallest detail.”
From simulation to the track
The tyre was developed using advanced virtualisation and simulation techniques, allowing Pirelli engineers to optimise its various characteristics virtually and assess its behaviour in relation to the supercar’s unique specifications. This phase was followed by an intensive joint testing programme at the Papenburg test track in Germany. During the tests, handling characteristics and high-speed performance were evaluated, fine-tuning the tyre’s behaviour to suit the specific characteristics of the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET.
Attention to design
Aesthetic considerations also played an important role in the development process: the tyre helps emphasise the BODO’s bold character through its high-contrast sidewall, a distinctive feature of Pirelli’s high-end products, further enhancing the configuration with 22-inch wheels. The result is a tyre designed to handle the power and torque delivered by the engine to the fullest, ensuring high levels of performance, steering precision and stability, without compromising the comfort expected of a Grand Tourer. Developed specifically for the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET, the P Zero features a “BB” marking on the sidewall, identifying its bespoke development for the model. It is available in 285/30 ZR22 XL for the front axle and 335/25 ZR22 XL for the rear.
