Pirelli completes the 2022 FIM Motocross World Championship season achieving 79 world titles

Tim Gajser in MXGP, Jago Geerts in MX2 and Nancy Van de Ven in WMX complete a perfect 2022 season in motocross for the Italian tyre brand

The eighteenth and final round of the 2022 MXGP season, the Turkish Grand Prix in Afyonkarahisar, closed Pirelli's 'perfect season' in the FIM Motocross World Championship in the best possible way, with three World Championships victories in the three main categories: MXGP, MX2 and WMX (FIM Women's Motocross World Championship).

In the MXGP class the Slovenian Tim Gajser (Honda HRC) had already reached in Finland, in the third last GP of the season, the mathematical certainty of his fifth world title, and to complete the final championship podium, with all Pirelli riders, we have the Swiss Jeremy Seewer (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing) and Spaniard Jorge Prado (Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing). The Turkish GP went to Tim Gajser, ahead of Jeremy Seewer; on the rather hard surface of the Afyon Motor Sports Center track, the riders equipped by Pirelli were able to take advantage of the excellent performance of the front SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft, combined with the rear SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft, the tyres that together with the SCORPION™ Soft front and rear, depending on the characteristics of the terrain and the rider's preferences, dominated the world championship season.

At the end of a spectacular season, the MX2 assigned its title to the last heat, with Tom Vialle (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) that ticks it on Jago Geerts (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing) for only four points, thanks to the victory in both races, with Geerts two times second. As in the top category, the MX2 championship podium is all Pirelli, with the young German Simon Laengenfelder (Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing) occupying the third step.

To complete a perfect 2022 for Pirelli colors, in the WMX (FIM Women's Motocross World Championship) came the world title of Dutch Nancy Van De Ven (Yamaha Ceres), perfect at controlling in the end of the season the attacks of the compatriot Valk.

The three world titles of this 2022 bring Pirelli's successes in the FIM Motocross World Championship to 79.
The continental championships also ended in Afyonkarahisar, with the awarding of the EMX Open title to the Spaniard Josè Butron (KTM), equipped with Pirelli as the winners of the European EMX 125 championships, the Dutch Cas Valk (Fantic), EMX 250 the Dutch Rick Elzinga (Yamaha). Finally, we remember the Junior World Championships 2022, won by the Pirelli riders on August 28 on the Vantaa track (Finland): in the 125 class Ivano Van Erp and in the 85 class Gyan Doensen.
