THE 440,000 EURO ARE IN ADDITION TO DONATIONS FROM CAMFIN, FONDAZIONE SILVIO TRONCHETTI PROVERA AND COMPANY PARTNERS FOR A TOTAL OF 750,000 EURO

Milan, 22 March 2020 - Pirelli’s employees in Italy have donated over 7,000 work hours as part of the “Together for Italy, Together for Research” initiative promoted by the company in support of the Covid-19 emergency, equal in value to around 220,000 euro, an amount that Pirelli will double. To this sum, destined for Milan’s Luigi Sacco Hospital, will be added donations of over 300,000 euro from Pirelli’s partners, including Camfin and Fondazione Silvio Tronchetti Provera which, as already known, contributed 100,000 euro each, for an overall total of 750,000 euro.

The funds raised so far through the initiative, which will continue in the coming days, will go towards supporting the acquisition of devices for the management of respiratory insufficiency in critical patients at the Sacco Hospital’s intensive care unit, to increase the level of safety for care providers and to contribute to research.

The donations follow another from Pirelli, in cooperation with the regional government of Lombardy, which has permitted the supply of 65 respirators for intensive care therapy, 5,000 protective suits for healthcare workers and 20,000 face masks for the Region’s healthcare structures.

“All of Pirelli stands by those on the front lines of this grave emergency, alongside all the doctors, nurses and healthcare workers. To all of them, and to those who today joined us is supporting them, go the thanks of all employees and the company”, said Executive Vice Chairman and CEO Marco Tronchetti Provera.
