PIRELLI SCORPION XC RC 2.4 TYRE HITS THE MARKET AFTER A PODIUM DEBUT AT THE WORLD CUP

The Scorpion XC RC line expands: the cross-country tyre, dedicated to racing, is now also available in a 2.4 version to meet the new trend for rims with wider channels.
The tyre, supplied to Pirelli's partner teams, has already achieved significant results in the World Cup.

Milan (Italy), 28 June 2021 - Pirelli announces the arrival to the market of the Scorpion XC RC 2.4, which expands its range of tyres dedicated to cross country MTB.

Launched in 2020, the Scorpion XC RC is a tyre designed for competition and created to handle a variety of terrain, such as those normally encountered on modern Olympic Cross- Country tracks. The tyre is at home on both artificial and natural surfaces, on the most compact as well as the softest terrains.

Dedicated to the expert rider, who is looking for the maximum speed in the race, the Scorpion XC RC is now available both in the classic 29x2.2 version and in the new 29x2.4 version. Also, the new size is offered in LITE version, for those who look for maximum weight reduction, and in ProWALL version for those who look for more protection on the sides and greater stability when cornering. The new Scorpion XC RC is available in the Team version, with yellow logos.

The current trend of wider rims and the increasing competitiveness of modern XCO tracks are leading riders to demand high-performing bikes (now all with full-suspension). As a result, riders are opting for tyres with a larger air volume, which allow for higher speeds on descents, climbs and rough terrain. The 2.4 size has therefore been developed by Pirelli in line with current standards to match rims with a 30C internal channel.

As with all Pirelli tyres, the new Scorpion XC RC 2.4 has undergone a period of rigorous field testing: the feedback from the TREK-PIRELLI team, who have had the tyre since the start of the season, has been fundamental.

In addition, the new tyre has already seen a podium finish in the World Cup: Ondřej Cink (team Kross Orlen) was second in both the XCO and short-track in Leogang (A) and young Vlad Dascalu, in his first full season in the Elite category, finished in 5th place in the same race in Leogang.

The new Pirelli Scorpion XC RC 2.4 is available at the price of € 59,90 /£ 54.99 / US $ 74.90
