RALLY SWEDEN, KEY DAY WILL BE SATURDAY

Two completely different race conditions on five different road surfaces and with one day that will prove key to victory: Saturday.

This is how the Rally Sweden looks in brief, following recee by Pirelli's engineers, from whose analysis a two-sided race emerges: Friday and Sunday will be run in more typically Nordic conditions, with fairly consistent ice and snow, while on Saturday conditions will be mixed, with the risk of seeing pure gravel alternating with icy conditions from the very first passages. In this situation, tyre management will prove essential to maintain or climb the positions acquired on Friday and to aim for the final success.

PIRELLI TYRES IN SWEDEN
Pirelli provides the drivers with:

Sottozero Ice J1B which, according to regulations, is the only tyre allowed in each class of Rally Sweden. It is a tyre featuring a directional asymmetric pattern for snowy and icy surfaces and the presence of 384 tungsten-tipped studs, protruding 7mm and 20mm long overall. Each stud is locked in place during the vulcanization process rather than being inserted later on the finished tyre.

Each of the Rally1 drivers may use up to 28 tyres during the race, while Rally2 drivers may use up to 24. In both classes the tyres used for the shakedown are free and do not form part of the race allocation.

Subzero Ice WJB for the Junior WRC Rally3 cars with some features common to J1B, such as 20mm studs and Pirelli's unique vulcanisation technology.

Junior WRC drivers will be allowed to use up to 22 tyres during the event, including the shakedown.
